Colben Schick has attended Lakeview his entire life. Schick has had such an amazing experience throughout his time here at Lakeview. He has made so many friends and memories he will never forget!
Speaking of things he will never forget, Schick states, “One thing I will remember most about Lakeview is the friends I have made over the years. Whether they are long-term friends, new friends, or reconnected friends, I am so grateful that I have met all of the amazing people I’m surrounded by today.”
As Schick’s senior year starts to wrap up he advises all underclassmen to “Have fun, hangout with your friends, work hard and enjoy being in high school.”
Schicks plans for after high school are to attend Kent State University! He says, “Once I graduate from Lakeview and turn 18 in June, I plan to get my real estate license right away before I go to Kent State University. While I am there, I plan on majoring In business administration and also hope to sell real estate while I am in college. Once I graduate, I plan on taking on real estate full-time and see where it takes me. Although I am scared to death of being on my own, I am excited to open a new chapter of my life and make more memories”.
Schick also really enjoyed going to basketball and football games showing school spirit. He thinks it’s very important for underclassmen to know to try and attend as much as possible. He states “Before you know it you’ll be attending your last football game and then never go again.”
We have the most wonderful teachers here at Lakeview who are always here to help us learn! Schick especially would like to thank Mrs. Bucko! He states, “Mrs. Bucko has been the most influential teacher for me. Not only is she an incredible teacher, she is a very kind and dedicated individual. Whenever she is teaching or talking to her students, I can tell that she truly loves what she does. When I had Mrs. Bucko, that was the only time I always knew what we were doing in class, she made me want to learn about the topic. That is what makes her such an incredible teacher.”
Schick has made so many amazing friends throughout his years here at Lakeview and says, “I don’t know what I’d do without my friends, we have all made so many memories together, and it’s so sad pretty soon we all go our own ways.”
One thing Schick is very passionate about and proud of is definitely his tennis career. He states, “Tennis is right around the corner and I can not wait to start.”
Schick started tennis right after deciding not to play baseball anymore and hasn’t looked back since! Lakeview has a wonderful tennis program, as well as wonderful coaches. He recommends joining the team if you’re interested!
Speaking of tennis, Schick had a lot of wonderful things to say about it when talking about his favorite sports memory throughout high school. He stated, “Throughout all of the high school clubs I have participated in, the thing I will cherish the most is my time on the tennis team. I started tennis freshman year after I quit baseball and I immediately fell in love with it; I have made so many amazing memories through tennis. One of my favorite memories of tennis was when we won the NE8 Championship last year for the first time in over 10 years. It was an immense accomplishment and showed how far our team had come.”
We wish Colben best of luck after high school and want to congratulate him on being our top dog!!
