Ethan Shackelford has been a Lakeview Bulldog all of his life. From the day he stepped foot in school, till the day he will step out of it, Lakeview has always been his home. Ethan’s time at Lakeview has been nothing but amazing for Ethan and he has enjoyed it the entire time.
As the school year comes to an end, Shackelford plans on taking his talents and academia to the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, and plans to work to become an aviation technician. He feels very confident in this choice, but does have some nerves about the big change in his life and what the future has in store for him.
When reminiscing about his high school career, Shackelford wished he knew some things his freshman year.
Shackelford says, “One thing I wish I knew as a freshman is that high school goes by so fast. If I could go back to freshman year I would start playing tennis that year.”
Ethan also talked about his favorite teachers and people.
Shackelford elaborates, “The people and teachers have been so helpful and supportive” and “I think Miss Bucko has influenced me the most because of all of the things she has told me about the years to come after high school.”
He also stated, “The one thing I will remember most about Lakeview is the friends I have made because they have all made my life better.”
Lakeview has been nothing but special to Shackleford, as he has made many memories throughout his career. He has been a participant in many spirits and activities, in which he’s made many memories from.
When asking Shackelford about his favorite sport moment, Shackelford went back to his time in cross country.
Shackelford says, “My favorite sports memory I have made since being at Lakeview was when we won the Trumbull County Championships in cross country my junior year. Our biggest rival at the time was Maplewood and we ended up destroying them in the county. This was such a good feeling because we all celebrated our win and it meant a lot to us.”
Shackelford has made many friends throughout high school, but some of his best friends have some words about him.
Senior Trenton Miller says, “I love Ethan, I have been friends with the guy for many years, but most recently we have gotten really close. We ran cross countries and track together, and also worked at the same job. He is one of the funniest guys I know and I enjoy being around him.”
Another one of Shackelford’s friends, Landon Hall, had some words about Ethan.
Hall says, “I have been friends with Shack since we were young. He is one of my best friends, and I could not imagine going through high school without him.”
With this being Shackelford’s last year of high school, he has had a lot of experience with it. When asked what advice he would give to underclassmen, he said “Have fun throughout high school because it won’t last forever.”
Ethan was a very eventful person in and out of school. When he was asked about his favorite moment out of school was, he responded with “Going to Siesta Key during junior year spring break. I went with Caleb Hnat, Leo Parise, and Jason Campana and we all went for like six days. We all had a lot of fun.”
Ethan has had an amazing high school experience, from all of the sports memories, to the relationships he has built. Lakeview has made his life better than any other school could have, and he appreciates Lakeview the most. He will never forget about his time in Lakeview.
