Michael Nigrin has been a Lakeview student since kindergarten. With 12 years of being a Bulldog under his belt, Nigrin has learned a lot from his experiences at Lakeview. This senior spotlight will dive into his time here and all that he learned.
As Nigrin prepares for upcoming graduation, he remembers how Lakeview has changed him and what he will cherish about his high school years. Nigrin shared, “I made so many friends and memories. Overall I had an amazing time. I will always remember the great times I had with my friends because they made the most of my time.”
After being a Lakeview student for so many years, Nigrin had the experience of being taught by many different teachers. When asked about a teacher that has influenced him the most, Nigrin responded, “Mr. Romano has been a very down to earth teacher in my opinion. He is very reasonable to talk to and very good at teaching.”
Senior year is coming to an end very quickly. Nigrin along with the rest of the class of 2025 has about two months left until graduation. In reflection of his favorite traditions from his final year of high school, Nigrin stated, “Being able to participate in all the events the school puts on for the seniors with my friends. So far we have gone to senior sunrise and many senior nights, and I still have a lot of things to look forward to such as senior sunset, brunch, parade, and graduation.”
Although his senior year is coming to an end, Nigrin had to work very hard to get to this point. When asked about the most difficult part of senior year, Nigrin answered, “I feel like as you get closer to being done with the year it becomes more challenging because of all the changes and the realization that you are almost done with school forever.”
Many seniors have felt inspired by something or someone throughout their high school careers. When asked about who or what has inspired him the most, Nigrin responded, “I have been inspired by my family as well as my girlfriend and my friends. They have been here with me the whole time.”
As Nigrin prepares himself to say goodbye to Lakeview, he leaves advice for underclassmen. Nigrin advised, “Just enjoy every moment of high school and if you have the urge to do something, do it. You may regret not doing something in the future.”
High school is notorious for giving students memories that last a lifetime. When asked about favorite high school memories, Nigrin stated, “My favorite memories are all from football games and being in classes with my friends. I always enjoyed going to football games to watch the team play and be together with everyone.”
As previously mentioned, Nigrin has attended Lakeview for twelve years. Being at one school for such a long time left a lasting impression on him. Nigrin highlighted, “What I will miss most about Lakeview is how close everyone is. I have made a lot of very strong bonds with people here and I hope even after graduation they will not break.”
For the class of 2025, graduation is just around the corner. As these students embark on the next chapter of their lives, they plan ahead to secure a bright future. When asked what the next step in his life is, Nigrin answered, “I would like to have my very own business one day and be able to call something mine. After high school I plan to get into real estate and hopefully one day own my own real estate business.”
Two of Nigrin’s closest friends were able to tell us a little bit about him as well. Senior Gage Woofter stated, “Mike has been my best friend since we were six years old. He has been there for me any time I have needed him. We have made a lot of great memories together such as going to Mexico. I am really glad I have such a good friend in my life.”
Senior Aanna Athey was also able to share about Nigrin. Athey stated, “I am very thankful I moved to Lakeview because I met Michael here. Not only is he my best friend, but he is also the person who has taught me much of what I know today. I don’t think I would be the same person without him.”
Nigrin has learned a lot at Lakeview and his experience here has certainly been an enjoyable one. We wish him luck as he moves on in life, past Lakeview High School, as he begins getting in real estate and making a business of his own one day.
