As we hop into the school year we also hop into homecoming! Some of us students favorite time of the year. On September 20th, around 300 students attend every year. This may be some students’ last or first homecoming. Homecoming isn’t just a day that is celebrated the night before and the night of. We celebrate all week long!
This year our theme is “Life is Sweet”. Thanks to our very own student council! We start our week off with spirit week, something we all look forward to every year. Everyone is always frantically waiting for the themes to be released to start planning their perfect outfit Themes can range anywhere from dressing as Adam Sandler to pajamas.
One of our seniors this year Ali Parise claims, “I can’t wait for this year’s Homecoming, The football game is going to be very exciting. Everyone needs to come out and support. I am so sad that it is my last one but I plan on making it my best one. Hopefully there is some really good music this year and I just have a really good last dance with all my friends.”
Another event that happens every year following Homecoming week is the pep rally. The pep rally happens every year, it is simply to get everyone hyped up and excited for our football game and of course the dance. There are challenges, the band plays, Homecoming court is announced and of course the football team comes out.
Following the pep rally is FNL, our students favorite time of the week. The Bulldogs take on Niles, the theme for that night is black out!
Another one of our seniors Nora Lewis states, “Homecoming is definitely my favorite time of the year and honestly maybe even favorite day. It’s all just so positive and fun. I love being with my friends and having the best time. Although this is my last year I really want to cherish it and make it the best year, since this is my last time to ever experience this. I am also very excited to attend the football game and dress up for spirit week!”
No matter what you are doing that day Lakeview really encourages you to come out and have a great time at our dance. If you are looking for a ticket, sales will be going on this week into next in the cafeteria during lunches at the cost of $20 per person! No tickets will be sold at the Homecoming doors so make sure you purchase now.
Another senior Matthew Leonard states “I can’t wait for homecoming this year, since it’s my last I really hope to make it fun and memorable with all my friends. I also hope everyone comes out to the football game to support the Bulldogs so they can beat Niles the night before our dance. I hope there is some good music playing and overall just a good vibe going.”
Everyone is excited and ready to take on the dance, dresses and suits have been bought left and right getting students super excited to wear their outfits and go to the dance!
So we hope to see everyone come out to this spectacular dance, whether you’re a freshman or senior, don’t be afraid to come and have fun with your friends. Also don’t be afraid to participate in spirit week and especially come out to see our Bulldogs fight to beat Niles! We hope everyone has a fun and unforgettable night, especially for our seniors. We hope they have a time to remember their last ever Homecoming.
We can’t wait to see everyone supporting our Bulldogs and having Lakeview spirit. We hope everyone has an amazing Homecoming this year!
