Super Bowl LX is to kick off this Sunday, February 8th, featuring the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. This game is met with much excitement from fans of both teams and the NFL as a whole, with this game notably being a rematch since these teams last faced off in the big game in 2015. Super Bowl Sunday is always met with many fun festivities, and after talking with the student body, it seems that many have plenty of excitement to look forward to this Sunday!
We started off by asking students what they had planned for the Super Bowl.
Junior Brenden Westbrook noted that he plans to spend the Super Bowl “hanging out with my friends and eating a bunch of good food.”
The Super Bowl is notorious for great parties and a good time with friends. During Super Bowl weekend, grocery stores are always flooded with people trying to prepare for the big game.
It is always a big topic of debate as to who is going to come out on top in the Super Bowl, which is why we took to asking students who they thought would come out on top.
Senior Trent Nale said that he thinks “The Patriots will come out on top, they have won a ton of Super Bowls in the past so I think this year will be no different.”
To many, this could be anyone’s game as the two competing teams are both extremely talented. With that in mind, it’s shaping up to be a great Super Bowl matchup!
Of course with the Super Bowl always comes the great half times shows and with this year featuring the global phenomenon Bad Bunny, it appears that it will be no different!
When Senior Lillian Haines was asked what she thought about the upcoming half time show, she said that “I am a big fan of Bad Bunny’s music, and I am very excited to see what he performs! Super Bowl half time shows are always entertaining and I’m excited about what they do this year to make it even better than the last.”
With over 80 millions monthly listeners on Spotify, Bad Bunny has cemented himself as one of the most influential musical artists of today, and it’s certainly no surprise he was chosen to perform this year. With the NFL’s long ongoing plan to cement themselves as a global sport, this event is sure to get more people to tune in!
This year’s Super Bowl is bound to be an exciting event that many people across the globe will tune into. American Football over the years has begun to spur into a global phenomenon held to a high standard not just in America, but the world as a whole. It appears that many of our students here at Lakeview High School have exciting plans ahead of the big game and have much excitement towards it. From pre-game predictions and a stellar half time show lined up, many students have spoken up on why they are excited for this game and what it means to them. One thing is for sure however, and that is Super Bowl LX will be one that people remember for years and years to come!
