Advice to underclassmen: If you have friends that aren’t helping you become a better person, are they really your friends?
Funniest high school moment: *READ THIS* So Hayden, Julian and I are in the weight room trying to get big. Hayden walks into to the belt room and finds two of the huge resistance rubber bands tied together. He hatches the idea of one person on one end of the band and someone else on the other side of the band and each person would run away from each other; so basically a game of tug-of-war but the band would be around our shoulders like a backpack. Now keep in mind this resistance band looks like it’s seen some better days; it had to have been as old as Ernie Grekis. So in my mind I’m thinking this thing’s gonna snap any minute, so I don’t participate. Hayden challenges some more people as they pass by through the gym. At this point I’m thinking maybe the band won’t snap. So probably after the fifth or sixth person goes with Hayden I step up to the gauntlet and challenge Hayden. Someone counts us down we both take off trying to get the upper hand. Well believe it or not our matchup was the breaking point for the rubber band. Now imagine one of your friends taking one of those little rubber bands and snapping you on the arm with it, it’s like a little pinch, right? Well now imagine your friend taking a rubber band about 100 times bigger than that little rubber band and stretching it from foul line to foul line and letting it go… That’s exactly what happened to me. Hayden and I took off dead sprint and got to a stalemate, right when I was about to give up the band snaps on Hayden’s end and goes zooming across the basketball court for the center of my back. The band ends up whipping me dead center in the middle of my back and leaving a welt from my shoulder blades to my lower back. The welt didn’t go away for maybe a month and I couldn’t lay on my back. That day I learned two things: one, don’t trust rubber bands that are old as dirt, and two, don’t always assume big rubber bands don’t snap.
