Spotlight: Meet these New Students

New Lakeview High School Freshman Dysen White recently made the move to Cortland, Ohio, all the way from Illinois. White is a very outgoing student who wishes to eventually be on the high school football and basketball teams. He is also involved in track and field and hopes to further improve his skills. So far, his favorite teacher is Mrs. Prokop, he enjoys her class very much. White says his first few weeks at Lakeview have been “pretty good so far.”

Sophomore Sophia Scott recently transferred to Lakeview from Kennedy High School. She currently plays as a mid fielder for the Lakeview soccer team. Scott said the best thing about Lakeview is “the people,” and she gives her first few weeks at Lakeview “an enthusiastic thumbs up.”

Junior Jackson Gillis transferred to Lakeview High School coming from our neighbor, Mathews High School. He is a part of the Lakeview Marching band and plays many instruments, such as the bass guitar and saxophone. He hopes to join the baseball team this upcoming spring to become more involved with the school. Gillis’s favorite class is Band and he looks forward to it every day. Gillis said he’s “enjoying Lakeview so far.”
