Senior Caitlyn Dales is one of the brightest individuals at Lakeview. She’s an active student at Lakeview, participating in multiple school activities including Cheerleading, Spanish club, Youth Led Prevention, Executive Committee, ski club, Senior Beta, and is also a tutor in the writing center.

Outside of school, Dales works at one of many local pizza establishments in the city of Cortland, Brothers Pizza as a part-time waitress. She also has taken dance classes since she was three.

Over her high school career, Dales has had many amazing opportunities to further her skills, the first of which being HOBY, a youth leadership program. She was one of four students selected to attend and at this program she learned about leadership roles in communities. Another leadership opportunity she had was Mahoning Valley Youth Leadership, where she was exposed to skills to help her further in life. She also had the chance to attend Brown University her junior year for a summer course.

Currently, Dales is unsure of what college she would like to attend, but has applied to Kent State, Youngstown State, Edinboro, Ohio State, and Cincinnati. Dales is also undecided on her major, but has considered engineering and secondary education.

“While I am unsure about my college plans,” Dales explained, “I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life and what college has in store for me.”

Even though she is excited for the next few years, Dales will miss her high school years.

She said, “One thing I will miss most is cheering under the Friday night lights.”

She also said she will miss her friends and simply driving around with them.

For underclassmen, the biggest piece of advice Dales had was to live in the moment while you can and make high school memorable.

We here at the Bulldog Bulletin wish Dales the best and we know she will have nothing but success in her future. She has been one of the brightest stars at Lakeview and we are happy to have her as a member of our Senior class.
