LHS Stars Cheer at Basketball Game

In the Lakeview High School new gym the, LHS Stars game took place on Friday, January 10th.

Our LHS Cheerleaders were all joined together by some of the brightest stars from Lakeview High School. Each year students with disabilities are invited to be a cheerleader for a night. The brightest stars get to shine and cheer at the varsity basketball game.

This program is really important to parents that have kids with disabilities because they get to see their kids do something they enjoy doing and smiling the whole time. This night is also  special to the kids and makes them feel important.

We asked Senior Sydney Whipkey how the game was and she told us, “ It’s really fun seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces as they watch the kids cheer with us.”

This night has been around since 2016 and the cheerleaders plan to continue this program for many years to come.
