On September 16, 2023, Lakeview commenced their annual Homecoming dance, and many students had a lot to say about their experience. For some students it was the first, and for others it was the last. Either way, the student body had all good things to say about it.
The theme for this year’s dance was Glowing Gardens. Thanks to Lakeview’s wonderful Student Council and teaching staff, a wonderful display of lights, flowers, and trees were provided for students at the dance. These beautiful decorations were perfectly executed for this year’s theme, and made the beautiful night even better with such an appealing scene.
Around 300 students attended Lakeview’s Glowing Garden dance, including Senior Justin Grossman. Because this is Grossman’s last dance, he is beginning to experience some new emotions. Grossman claims, “I had an amazing experience at homecoming. In particular I really liked the music the DJ played. I am so grateful my last homecoming was such a fun one. What made it so fun was definitely the music the DJ was playing. Great songs like I Just Wanna Rock by Lil Uzi Vert, and even “Deli” by Ice Spice, (my favorite song of all time) were played which really added to the fun. The only disappointment from the DJ was not playing “Teach Me How to Dougie” but overall I was really satisfied with the playlist and feel as though it’s what made the night so memorable.” So thank you to our DJ for providing so much fun!
The 2023 Homecoming dance was the last one for many others as well. Seniors at Lakeview this year have officially experienced their very last Homecoming ever. Such a seemingly sad thing seems to have made several seniors realize their time in High School is quickly coming to an end, so their goal is to soak up every single second they get.
Many seniors including Justin’s brother, Jacob Grossman, have been thinking about how fast the time is passing by. Seniors are trying their best to hold on to these special High School moments. Grossman said, ”I have mixed emotions about graduation approaching, so I know that it is very important that I make the most of times like these. Homecoming was the perfect place to make my final High School memories. I will never forget these cherishible moments with my close friends here at Lakeview.”
Even though seniors have commenced their last homecoming, freshmen have just experienced their first. This year, per usual, the freshmen were ecstatic to finally get to go to their very first High School dance. Activities like finding the right outfit, picking out colors, and getting hair and nails done were carried out by the class of 2027 for the first time in the Dawg House. These memories made with friends and family are extremely special, especially at the start of your High School Career.
Freshman Sydney Persino said, “Getting to get ready with my big sister and going to my first dance with her was such an amazing experience. I had a great time there, it was nothing like I imagined it would be. The decorations were beautiful and I loved seeing all my classmates and friends all dressed up for the occasion. I mostly enjoyed watching the seniors celebrate being on homecoming court, and winning King and Queen because I know next year I could be watching my sister participate, and maybe even myself one day.”
No matter what grade you are in, it seems that all the Bulldogs had a great time at homecoming. Particularly enjoying the music, memories, and decorations. Overall, Lakeview’s 2023 Homecoming experience was a blast for the Bulldogs!
