Lakeview’s annual yearbook, “The Epic” is under development yet again in this new academic school year. The Lakeview high school publication class is working on the yearbook once again. School Publications has been working on the yearbook since the start of the academic year and will continue to work till the end of the year to produce the beloved yearbook. The yearbook crew is creating this yearbook to encapsulate the 2023-2024 school year and all of the action that went down.
So who is making your yearbook? The yearbook crew is returning three members, which are Senior Saige Muresan, Senior Ellie Davies, and Senior Izzy Haines. While the class only returns three members, the class welcomes eighteen new members, some seniors but the majority being juniors. These three returning members have big shoes to fill and some have high aspirations for the 2023-2024 rendition of the yearbook.
Senior Yearbook Member Ellie Davies said, “Making it is so much fun, I like being involved in the yearbook, I like having a say in making the yearbook. I enjoyed it last year and am excited to do it for my senior year. I am also very excited to show the student body what we have been working on.”
The goal of the yearbook is to include everyone and everything. Everything from the beginning of the year with Girls Tennis to the end of the year with the Track and Field team, the yearbook is filled with sports from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. “The Epic” is also filled with clubs from the school, some include the Spanish club, ski club, drama club, French club, and more! The yearbook aims to please all of the student body and include everybody! But there is a different reason why many seniors will be buying this year’s yearbook.
Senior Matthew Seikel stated, “The yearbook gives me and my fellow classmates and friends a way to look back on the years and memories that we made together. With this being my senior year it will be very cool to look back at this year 15 years from now and remember the fun times we all had at Lakeview.”
One of the reasons many seniors buy this yearbook is simply because of to remember these memories. Senior year is the final year for these students and they want a physical remembrance of this action packed year.
Senior Gavin Baumgartner said, “I have not bought it in three years but this year I plan on buying it. This year is different because it is my senior year and I want to remember the good times my senior year had to offer.“
Every Lakeview student should buy the yearbook every year, but if you only want to buy it once it would be best to buy it your senior year. It allows you to see all of your classmates and friends during your final year together.
Senior Trenton Nehlen also had something to add, “I enjoy the yearbook, for years the yearbook has been all about the seniors, but this year it’s about us and our class. I thank the yearbook class for all the work they put in during the school year.”
The yearbook is mostly about that year’s senior class. This year it will be about our 2024 Lakeview graduates. Many of them are very excited to see them finally become the main focus of the ever so loved yearbook.
Students of the yearbook class are very excited to show the creative side of themselves. Every year and lot of work goes into planning the yearbook and purchasing the yearbook makes their year all worth it and they will greatly appreciate it!
So, how do Bulldogs buy a yearbook? They can only be ordered online at Jostens. This year’s cost is $77. Seniors are encouraged to choose to have the book shipped to their home for an extra $10. Yearbook staff will work on the book until the last day of school and then the contents is sent to be printed over the summer and will be shipped to homes or the school – whichever you choose – in mid-August 2024.
