The Bulldogs have recently rounded off both of their soccer seasons with the annual end of year banquet. Most years, the Bulldogs have hosted end of season banquets, frequently at DiLucia’s Banquet and Catering Facility, to recognize the end of the season. The banquet’s are enjoyed with great food, beloved family, and of course, the wonderful teams.
The Lady Bulldogs were hosted at DiLucia’s on the 6th of November. Many athletes were recognized for their fighting ability and successes this season. The following ladies were recognized for higher honors, Freshman Sophie Irwin earned All County, Sophomore Leah Clark earned All County, Senior Olivia Easton earned All County Honorable Mention and Senior Academic, Sophomore Makenna Doran earned 2nd Team All District, Junior Lorelai Lowe earned 2nd Team All District, Sophomore Annabell Humphrey earned 1st Team All District, and Junior Ava Hipple earned D3 All-State.The Lady Bulldogs worked hard all season for those honors and were grateful to round out the season with such a lovely banquet, congratulations to those ladies!
I spoke to Humphrey about how she felt during the banquet, “The banquet was good, we had a good season and we got far for having a pretty young team. Next year it will be fun now that we have more experience throughout the team.”
Along with Humphrey, Clark felt, “This year’s soccer banquet was fun! We got to say goodbye to the only senior, and everyone got their well deserved awards.”
The Lady senior, Easton, will be missed heavily by the program. But it sounds like the ladies had a fantastic time at their end of season banquet!
On the other hand, the boys also finished off their season with the end of year banquet. Their banquet was also hosted at DiLucia’s. The boys were accompanied by their friends, family, and teammates to celebrate the end of a hard year.
The boys were hosted on November 16th. Many of the boys were recognized for higher honors including, Junior Ben Schmidt earned All County, Junior Anthony Marble-Salem earned All County Honorable Mention, Senior Matthew Seikel earned Senior Academic Award, Senior Jacob Spencer earned Senior Academic Award, Junior Ben Bradley earned All District Honorable Mention, Sophomore Tyler Simonyi earned 2nd Team All District, and Sophomore Brandon Toot earned 1st Team All District. These boys worked just as hard as the girls did for their honors this season, congratulations Bulldogs!
When these awards are announced and the season is over, some have heavy hearts for seniors leaving and another year gone by, Sophomore Evan Hawn really feels the nostalgia of another season gone by, “It is really heartbreaking to see the people who made you leave. At the banquet, when I realized that these four seniors aren’t gonna be around next year, it hit me. I know it is gonna be hard next year without them. At the banquet, Jacob could not move, due to his surgery on his ACL a few days prior. I went and got him a drink and some food, and he was very appreciative, like always. They even had to bring the microphone to him because his leg was destroyed. I can never express how grateful I am for him, and all of the seniors.”
What a memorable last banquet for these seniors and underclassmen. The boys seem melancholic for their season to be over with many seasons having their final season and the team possibly having some rebuilding coming their way.
Good luck and congratulations to both the Lady Bulldogs and the Bulldogs for having yet another great season and an even better end of season banquet.
