Senior Ellie Davies is headed for the next step in her life. Davies has been a Proud Bulldog since Kindergarten. Davies is eager to graduate and finally be free of high school. She cannot wait to see how the second half of her senior year plays out!
Davies has worked very hard during her high school career. She is an active member of the National Honors Society as well as 126 Club. During her first two years of high school, she was a volleyball player on our school’s team. She was an active member of the Junior Executive Committee. Davies also has had a job and is on photography group Ashley Nicole’s ambassador program.
Davies has known where she was going after high school for quite some time now. She has followed in her older brother’s footsteps and is headed off to attend Ohio University in the fall of 2024. Davies plans to major in journalism while also studying a marketing minor.
Now that Davies has been accepted into college she says “the worst part of senior year is battling senioritis.” All Davies wants to do at this point is make it to graduation but is finding it difficult to get through all her classwork. However, her friends are helping her make it through the year.
Davies has made many friends throughout her years here at Lakeview, you could even say her friends are what makes school worth it for her. When asked what Davies was going to miss the most about Lakeview she says “I am going to miss my friends the most. A lot of us are going our separate ways after graduation and it’s going to be very different without seeing them all every day.”
So far, Davies has already made many lasting memories. Davies and her friends like to spend their free time attending football and basketball games and then go out to eat after. Along with spending much of her free time with friends, she has also enjoyed her senior homecoming dance and senior sunrise. Davies says “It was nice to hang out with everyone in my grade before we started our separate lives.”
Thinking back to Davies’ freshman year, she wishes she knew more. One thing she wishes she knew was just how competitive GPA and grades are, especially when it comes to getting into college and attaining scholarships. Another thing she wishes she knew was which classes offered at Lakeview would benefit her the best.
Now understanding what Davies wishes she knew, she has some advice for any underclassmen. Davies’s advice is to “care about your grades instead of what everyone thinks of you. Your grades and GPA will follow you outside of school, and people’s opinions will fade.”
Not only has Davies made lasting memories with friends, but two teachers have also made lasting memories with her. Davies will always remember Mrs. Hogue and Mr. Murphy, both of whom have made lasting impressions. Mrs. Hogue and Mr. Murphy were both extremely supportive of Davies and were always easy to talk to. Davies says, “I really appreciate their attitudes towards their students and how they continue to help students with whatever issue they may have.”
With the decision of college already made Davies is “very excited to be starting a new chapter and to meet new people, but I am a bit sad to be ending this one.”
Good luck to 2024 senior Ellie Davies as she moves on to the next big step in her life!
