It’s that time of the year! Lakeview’s ski season has finally kicked off. On Wednesdays, the Bulldogs meet together after school and ride up to the ski resort Peak N Peak! This event lasts about 4-5 hours, allowing everyone to have a great time!
Peek’n Peak is a great place to ski, especially when just beginning! There are different lessons you can take with instructors to teach you how to maneuver. It consists of multiple hills of all different sizes and provides equipment for everyone! This ski resort is located in New York, about two hours away. This is a great choice if you are looking for a school club or outside activity! Skiing isn’t the only option, but snowboarding as well. Peek’n Peak also provides season passes so you can go anytime you’d like!
After asking some questions about his ski experience, freshman Nolan Allen says, “This is my second year doing ski club, and it is really fun! Instead of skiing, I decided to snowboard, which is pretty challenging. My favorite part is being able to go hang out with my friends while doing something we all love. Overall, my ski season is going great, and I am proud to say I have improved.” This goes to show that ski club is a great activity and a great way to spend some free time.
Allen wasn’t the only person to comment on this, Junior Jalyn DeLeon did as well. She says this is her first year doing ski club, and she has no complaints! DeLeon states, “My favorite memory so far is when I stopped on the slope to wait for my friend Lily only to look over my shoulder to see her flying down the hill screaming. Or maybe my favorite memory is when my friend Addie flew between my other friend Loreali’s skis. It left us dying from how funny the whole situation was. I look forward to every Wednesday now, and I love it so much. ” From this, it is clear that the ski club is a huge hit!
Freshman Easton Bradley also wanted to share his ski club experience. He, like the others, has nothing bad to say! Bradley states, “Every Wednesday me and my friends are always looking forward to getting out of school and getting on the bus to go skiing. The skiing isn’t even the best part, the bus ride is. It is filled with jokes and a lot of fun with friends. I have always loved skiing so I love having the opportunity to be able to go up every week. If anyone is questioning doing ski club, my immediate answer is yes. They won’t regret it. ” Once again, ski club has proven to be a lot of fun and a great way to spend time with your friends.
Ski club is not only a fun school activity, but a bonding experience. It creates unique memories for everyone, creating great stories to tell later in life. Even though it may come with a few bumps and bruises, learning a new skill can be very beneficial! It not only boosts your confidence, but it gives you something to look forward to! Skiing is also a great way to exercise! Not only that, but Peek’n Peak is famous for its food as well! After asking more Bulldogs about the food choices, they had nothing bad to say! In fact, some would say that is one of the best parts! If you are debating on doing ski club, you should definitely try it! It may be a little tough at first, but the experience and memories are worth it!
