This Senior spotlight goes to Marissa Eddy. Eddy has been a Bulldog her whole life and has accomplished many great things here at Lakeview High School. After graduation Eddy will be attending the University of Youngstown State to study dental hygiene.
With college in her future, Eddy will always remember her high school years. I asked Eddy What is the most difficult part about senior year and why? She stated, “The most difficult part of senior year is the pressure of choosing a college and a major. There are so many options to choose from that it can get stressful to think what you want to do for the rest of your life.”
Eddy has had a huge impact on Lakeview athletics. She is a four year letter winner for girls tennis, and received the Bulldog AQward for her excellence.
One thing Eddy will never forget about her tennis team and that tennis is her favorite sport. Eddy says that her favorite memory from tennis is “senior night, I had helped plan out all of the senior nights the past three years before that so it was fun to be able to experience my own and it will be a time I will remember forever.”
Looking back at the last four years, Eddy has changed a significant amount. I asked Eddy “How have you changed the most through the past 4 years?” She said, “Lakeview has changed me in many ways, It has made me have many more opportunities including being able to take CCP classes and get college credits. I have also been able to make many new friends and get out of my comfort zone by talking to new people.”
Marissa has not only made a great impact on her peers but also her friends she has made through her high school career. Her friend and fellow senior Zoe Baker had nothing but good things to say about Eddy including that “Marissa and I have been friends since Kindergarten, and she’s always been my biggest supporter. She’s my best friend and I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
Not only is Eddy a great friend she is also a great student. Eddy partakes in the school’s National Honor Society and works very hard in her studies. Although when you’re in class it is your time to learn, you can also create really good memories in classes with your friends. I asked Eddy what her favorite in class memory is from throughout high school? She goes on to say that “My favorite in class memory was Sophomore year geometry class since my friends and I had a lot of fun and it made going to math class more exciting.”
Marissa has some advice she would like to give to the younger classes coming up into the high school. She says “One thing that I wish I knew as a freshman is to not wait until the night before to study for a test. If I could go back to freshman year I would take studying more seriously.” Studying is a huge part of high school and this is some great advice all younger students should take.
Senior year is a huge step in every young adult’s life. Sometimes we like to look back on our younger years and think about all of the fun memories we have made. Now that Marissa’s senior year is coming to an end there are many great things to be excited for and take the next big step in her life. Eddy’s next step after graduation is to “attend Youngstown State University to acquire a Bachelor of science in dental hygiene.” She also states that she will be “sad to not have the luxury of seeing my friends everyday, but I am super excited to start the next chapter of my life and to see what the future holds for me.”
Good luck to Senior Marissa Eddy as she takes on her future!!
