Jacob Spencer is looking forward to being a 2024 Lakeview graduate! Spencer has been at Lakeview his entire life. Along the way he has made tons of memories and friends for life. But he can’t wait to see how the rest of the year unfolds.
Spencer has been a very active member of Lakeview High School during his time here. In his four years Jacob has been a part of Ski Club, NHS, Golf, Soccer, and Football. He’s a bit anxious to leave that all behind because sports have been a huge part of his life for so long. Many members of these organizations will miss him very much once he leaves. Ski club member and soccer player Evan Hawn had this to say about Spencer, “He’s always been a hard worker, even with his torn ACL. I just love his determination, always trying to be the best. He’s really like an A1 kind like you’re not going to find a lot of people like him.”
Spencer believes Lakeview sports were the best part of his high school experience. He has met one of his best friends, fellow senior Matt Seikel, through Lakeview soccer. They played together for 3 years and their last year was spent being team captains together. Throughout that time Seikel got the chance to become close with Spencer, “Jacob has been a great friend and teammate throughout the years that I have known him. He has been a great friend and a great role model for me and how to battle through adversity, I hope after high school we can still be good friends and have fun together.”
Spencer’s favorite part about his final year was having a successful soccer season as a senior. A bittersweet one at that. The boys season starts during the summer with rigorous training and pure dedication and hard work. Throughout the summer Spencer proved he was a good role model for his younger teammates. Hence, he was chosen as a team captain for his honorable qualities such as leadership.
Spencer has made an impact on many people throughout the Lakeview district. Including many underclassmen who he played sports with in his four years of high school. Spencer is a huge advocate for sports as a way to socialize and get to know others, his piece of advice for freshmen is, “I wish I would’ve known that the time would actually go by as fast as everyone said it would.”
Spencer also suggests to freshman, “Don’t mess around in school, you just make yourself look stupid.”
During his time at Lakeview, Spencer feels Mr. Murphy is his teacher who made the biggest impact on him. He feels Murphy was an inspiration for always being in a good mood and trying to make everyone’s day better. Murphy has inspired Spencer to complete his senior year and hurry out of Lakeview. Although he’s eager to leave, Spencer is nervous to take on adult responsibility as the year comes to a close.
As the end of the year creeps closer and closer, Spencer feels the school year has been easy so far. While he’s finishing up school work he is also submitting college applications and working towards his future. Spencer feels the school work isn’t hard and he’s focusing on his future and preparing himself to leave Lakeview and continue his journey elsewhere.
After graduation Spencer plans on attending the University of Cincinnati, he is very excited to continue the next chapter of his life. While at Cincinnati he plans on studying business analytics and playing for the schools club soccer team.
Good luck to our future 2024 senior graduate as he moves onto a bigger chapter!
