Senior Gianna Ferraro is getting ready for the next chapter of her life. Ferraro has been a Lakeview Bulldog since Kindergarten. She is very excited to head off to college but that makes her nervous because it is a very different environment. Including the fact Ferraro has been exposed to the same environment her entire life!
Ferraro is keeping herself busy this year loading her schedule with CCP classes and keeping up with extracurricular activities. Ferraro has been apart of Ski Club, Basketball, National Honors Society, Youth Lead Prevention, and Beta Club. As well, she has volunteered her time to help coach a little league basketball team!
Ferraro’s favorite club activity was, “When ski club finally started my best friend and I got to go together after talking about doing it for so long.”
Over these years Ferraro has created friendships with many people, including her best friends, Senior Emerson Hyde, Senior Ashley Solis, and Senior Brooklyn Hutton. They all have very strong feelings towards their best friend. Solis had to say this, “Gigi has been my best friend for years. We’ve been kids together and we’ll be adults together soon. She has such a bright future ahead of her and I’m excited to continue growing up with such an amazing, kind, and compassionate person!”
Along with that, Hyde had many more positive things to say about Ferraro, “Gigi is someone who has always been there for anyone who needs her to be. She never fails to light up any room that she’s in and always provides everyone around her with a smile. I couldn’t imagine myself not having Gigi as one of my friends!”
While Ferraro provides so much for her friends now she also has some advice for the upcoming high schoolers, “Don’t slack off on your school work, everything counts.”
Ferraro describes high school as something that flies by. She has enjoyed her time at Lakeview, spending countless weekends hanging out with her friends, the excitement of Prom and Homecoming Season, Football season, and the people she’s met along the way. She has made many memories with these people at events such as football games, and taking it that this Prom and Homecoming will be their last dance all together. It’s all bitter sweet, but enjoy it while it’s here.
With so much nostalgia and the stress of growing up, Ferraro shares that the hardest part of senior year so far has been “trying not to slack off and make sure you are getting all your work done.”
While Ferraro has been looking back and taking everything in, she’s thought about who influenced her the most, Carrie Schlatt. Schallt has been an influence on many students lives being one of the English teachers at Lakeview High School. Students find her classes very engaging and interesting, especially those interested in the English language.
Along with thinking about Schallt and how loved her class is, Ferraro feels as though she will mostly miss having classes with her friends.
Although much of the stress of high school is coming to an end, the ending is hard. Ferraro has decided to continue her adventure at an undecided college but she plans on getting a degree of some sort. Ferraro describes feeling, “excited but also really nervous because it is a completely different environment than the one I have been used to for the past 12 years.”
Ferraro has been a positive force all around Lakeview, to helping her friends through hard times and being a positive light in a bad situation. Good Luck to Ferraro as she continues to thrive and spread kindness to all those around her!
