Senior Abigail Sulc is preparing for the next adventure in her life. Sulc has been a Proud Lakeview Bulldog since Kindergarten. She is excited about how the second half of her senior year will play out, and she is also eager to graduate and head off to college!
Sulc has kept a busy schedule throughout her high school career. She is currently an active member of the NHS Club, Senior Executive Committee, Senior Beta Club, and Band. She is also the National Honors Society Treasurer and a Senior Beta Officer. In past years, Sulc has participated in Youth Led Prevention, Assemble for Change, French Club, and was on the Junior Executive Committee as Treasurer.
One of Sulc’s favorite in-school club memories was “Junior Executive Committee because I had a lot of fun working the concessions with my friends and we also got to plan prom.”
Over the past four years, she has participated in both symphonic and marching bands. As a senior, Sulc is Band President as well as a section leader, squad leader, and council member.
Throughout her high school years, one teacher has made a lasting impression. Science teacher Joshua Murphy had always made class fun for Sulc while “also helping me and other classmates get through one of the hardest CCP classes I have taken.” Murphy has also written Sulc countless recommendation letters which has helped her accomplish many goals and get into the Kent Honors College.
While Sulc had some time to think about the past, she also thought about what she wished she had known as a freshman. Sulc says, “I wish I was more outgoing and confident in myself. I didn’t really get involved in a lot of clubs and activities until sophomore or junior year and I wish I had stepped out of my comfort zone sooner.”
Sulc will always remember the friendships and memories she made throughout high school. One of her favorite traditions is with her best friend which is, “Spirit weeks because my best friend Lily and I started matching or coordinating our outfits for spirit weeks during our Junior year and I was excited to continue that little tradition.”
While Sulc is happy to finally be a senior, she has found this year “pretty stressful trying to balance a personal life, school work, and plan for college but if you try hard enough, it is possible.” She is pushing through and knows her hard work with pay off in the long run.
Regardless of the stress, Sulc has found her Senior year very fun and exciting. When asked about the highlights of her Senior year, Sulc said, “Senior sunset, sunrise, trip, making the class shirts, and just helping to plan all these fun events to close our final year of high school.”
Sulc had been indecisive about where to go to college, but she eventually decided to go to Kent State University. She plans to major in the Health Science field and will be attending Kent’s Honors College.
With college on the horizon, Sulc is “nervous for it but at the same time, very excited to start this next chapter and see where it takes me.”
Good luck to 2024 Senior Abigail Sulc as she heads off to the next adventure in her life!
