The regular season has concluded and after 22 games the Bulldogs go to 9-13 on the season. The regular season did not end as the Dogs wanted it to but the Bulldogs took a big jump from last year to this year and they will look to do the same for next season.
The Bulldogs concluded the regular season where they faced off against West Geauga and lost in a nail-biter 50-47.
Although the Bulldogs did not have a winning season there is much to learn from and improve on before tournament play that starts next Tuesday, February 27th.
The Dogs will open up at HOME against Garrettsville Garfield for the first round of the playoffs. This game will be played on Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00 P.M. And it will be played here at Lakeview as the Bulldogs look to use home-court advantage and advance on.
The Dogs need help though and will need everyone to show out and fill every seat for this game as every person matters.
Senior Isaiah Warner was asked about this upcoming game and how important it is for everyone to show out to support the Dogs and be loud at all times.
Warner stated, ¨We are nothing without our fans. We feed off of their energy, and when we are tired they truly do keep us going and going all game long. It truly does feel different when you have the whole community rallying behind you when you are playing and it makes us as a team play better.¨
Senior Captain Kyle Senkowitz adds, “There is nothing better than a first-round home playoff game but we need everyone. We need all students to come to support us and be loud. We feed off the energy and it brings a different level of play in us. The student section needs to be filled to the top and we need you loud all game long.¨
As these Bulldogs said, the number one thing is the energy that you bring to the game and how important it is to be loud and active all game long. Support does not go unrecognized and this home playoff game needs to feel like it’s truly at home all game long.
Senior Captain Ryan Gee was asked how important it is for the student section to be active and alive for every second of the game on Tuesday.
Gee states, ¨The student section has been off and on this year but this is the game that truly does count and we need you guys to be loud every second you can. Not only does being loud get in the head of the other team but we use it and it keeps us going. The energy that you guys bring is what keeps us as a team going and what keeps the energy high at all times.”
Warner was asked about the expectations for this upcoming game and what needs to be done.
Warner states,¨If we are going to have everyone show out for this game then we need to show them who we are as a team and get the job done. As a team, we cannot take one position off and need to play hard all game long. If we can feed off the energy and play the hardest we can be the better team that night and come out with a win.¨
Help the Bulldogs this upcoming Tuesday and be loud all game long. It is not often that a home playoff game is played and as a community, we need to take advantage of it. Come out and support the Bulldogs this Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. against Garrettsville Garfield at HOME.
