Kyle Somich is in his senior year this year. He has been an active player on the football team for most of his life. Ever since elementary school, Kyle has been playing the game of football and has grown a passion for it ever since. However, he will not be playing football in college. Kyle has decided to attend Youngstown University for college this upcoming school year.
Here are some of Kyle’s answers to the question I asked him so you can get to know him more. When I asked Kyle what was one thing you wish you knew as a freshman, he said, “I wish I knew how fast my four years of high school would go by. Whenever people told me that the years would go by fast, I never took them seriously. But now that I am here and in my senior year, I realized that they were telling the truth. I remember being a freshman just like it was yesterday.” I think that most seniors can stand by this statement because it really does go by fast.
The next thing I had asked Kyle was how Lakeview had changed him. Kyle responded and said, “During my time attending Lakeview, I had met a lot of people who have grown to be my friends throughout my entire school journey. The friends that I have made in classes and sports had made a significant impact on me. These friends brought me memories as well. Lakeview has given me the opportunity to meet these friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. And for that, I am truly grateful to be a Lakeview student.”
The teachers at Lakeview have all in some way made an impact on students. One teacher in particular had influenced Kyle the most. Kyle said that, “My favorite teacher would have to be Mr. Murphy. He is a really laid back and cool teacher. With his humor, he made learning in his class more enjoyable and easier. I was not planning on playing football my senior year, but Mr. Murphy had encouraged me to play one last time. I’m glad I made that decision and I can thank My. Murphy for that.”
Now that Kyle is in his last year of high school, I had asked him what the most difficult part is about being a senior. His response was, ” The most difficult part for me would definitely be that I am letting go of everything in high school and I am starting something new in this next chapter of my life. Although it is scary to think about, I am also looking forward to it. I am hoping to meet some new friends along the way and hopefully my path will become more clear.”
I know Kyle personally and he has been my friend ever since middle school. I am grateful to call Kyle my friend and I will have memories that we have made together forever. Since we are going to the same school, I am hoping to continue this friendship with him. I wish the best of luck to Kyle as he finishes out his last year of High School!
