The 2024 Seniors are towards the end of their high school years! Senior Clover Wagner’s years have been filled with excitement and enjoyable memories. Wagner has been a Bulldog since kindergarten. Wagner participated in different activities throughout the 12 years that have given him memories for the rest of his life.
Wagner has left a lasting impression not only on his peers but on all the surrounding people. He has been in numerous activities and clubs that have helped him grow as a person and develop different skills.
Wagner expresses, “My biggest strength through high school has been my leadership skills. I began joining clubs during my freshman year. By sophomore year, I was joining the council for those clubs. In my junior year, I was Vice President of Choir and Drama. This year I am now President of GSA, Drama, Choir, and the travel club.”
When talking with Wagner about what prepared him most, he had great things to say.
Wagner describes, “The best way I think Lakeview has properly prepared me for my next chapter in life is through the people. I had to learn at Lakeview how to put myself out there to make friends and I think this will benefit me in the long run for making friends at college. The thing that had the biggest impact on my choosing my future was my parents. They raised me, teaching me about different colleges, and I’ve had my heart set on college since I was 10. ”
While Wagner was trying to figure out what he wanted to do in the future, a few things sparked his ideas.
Wagner elaborates, “My extra-curricular activities impacted my decision to minor in dance. I have fallen in love with dance over the years and I would love to continue learning and growing my skills in college.”
Wagner received acceptance letters from Mount Union, Kent, YSU, Ohio Wesleyan, Akron, Wooster, and Earlham. Out of all of them, he chooses Wooster. Wagner will be starting the fall semester of 2024 majoring in pre-law and double minor in dance and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. In college, he plans on being a part of an a capella group, continuing dance, and joining new clubs.
While this season of Wagner’s life is coming to an end, he mentions a few things that helped him along the way.
Wagner states, “After graduation, I will miss Mrs. Wood the most. She is my favorite teacher I’ve ever had, and she gives the best advice. She is the Lakeview adult who had the biggest impact on my high school career or future as my junior-year English teacher. She helped me grow as a writer and as a student.”
While Wagner is getting ready to leave Lakeview, he has some advice for his younger kids and himself.
Wagner explains, “I would tell my freshman-year self not to be afraid to be yourself. If you show who you are, the right people will find you. The advice I would give to younger students is to care and focus on your education, join clubs/sports, and attend all the dances.”
Lastly, when talking with Wagner I asked him who has had the most impact on his life during these 4 years in choosing his future.
Wagner replied, “My favorite high school year is this year because my grades are the best they’ve ever been, i am surrounded by the most supportive people, and I’ve just had so much fun. All of my friends have impacted my life for the better. They are all so supportive and they make the hard days easier.”
Wagner is a one-of-a-kind student. You do not find many passionate people who love what they do and take pride in it. Wagner leaves a great impression on everyone he meets. Even though we are sad to see Wagner head off in a new direction, these Bulldogs will have a long-lasting impression of the things he has accomplished here.
