This year at Lakeview High School, many students joined the Ski club! The ski club has been on 4 trips up to Peek’n Peak plus a group that went up to Lake Placid. Although the weather might not have been as well as we expected, it was still a great experience for these students.
This year, the weather was a little on the warmer side for some of the trips that we took. One of the trips had to be rescheduled because of the warm weather, but the first two trips were amazing weather for skiing. The first trip was great weather, not too cold, but enough snow for the skiers. It was a great way to start off the season. Our second trip was on a snow day. Since Lakeview had a snow day that day, the ski club went up extra early that day, so they had more time to ski. The weather was freezing, but it was good snow to ski in! However, the one got rescheduled for February because there was not enough snow, but that one went well as well!
As the last ski trip came up, many students were sad for it to come to an end, but were excited to go skiing one last time this year! Junior Addison Nicholas shared how excited she felt about the last ski trip saying, “I was really excited for the last trip and now I am excited for next season.”
Nicholas also says how this overall season was, “I had so much fun this year and even though the conditions weren’t the best, I still had fun with my friends.”
As you can tell, the skiers still had a great experience this year skiing even though the weather wasn’t the best. Good thing the one ski trip was rescheduled because it was great weather for their last trip!
There were many good trips this year for skiing, and many good snows that we had for good slopes this year. Sophomore Ava Pappas shared which trip was her favorite this season, “My favorite ski trip this year was definitely on the snow day we had. This was my favorite trip because there was so much good snow to ski on and we got a few extra hours to ski. I’m so glad the teachers decided to go up early because it meant more memories for me to go skiing this year!”
The snow day this year really did the ski club good because of the good snow and extra time! As Pappas said, it creates an opportunity for the students to make more memories and have so much more fun.
Many students in the ski club had an overall great ski season this year with a bunch of memories and fun that was made. Sophomore Sofia Shuster shared how her ski season went saying, “I had a great time this year with my best friends skiing. I always looked forward to each Wednesday because I knew I would have so much fun!”
Shuster also shares, “I am so excited for next year because I know it will be so much fun with all my friends!”
As you can see, this year has been a good year for skiing besides a few warm weather days that the ski club ran into. Although they had to reschedule, they made the best of their trips!
According to Nicholas, Pappas, and Shuster, they all had fun this year skiing with each other. Here at Lakeview the bulldogs know how to make the best of their time skiing on the slopes of Peek’n Peak!
