While the end of the third quarter is wrapping up, students begin preparing for Spring Break. Lakeview’s spring break takes place from March twenty-eighth through April third. This break takes place over Easter and gives students time to relax from school. The Bulldogs already have a busy schedule, some with Easter activities, visiting family, or traveling.
Over break, many students plan to spend quality time with their families and participate in Easter activities.
Junior Adrienne Rich says, “Over break, I plan on spending most of my time with my family and friends. For Easter, my family and I planned a family dinner at Divestes. This break allows us all to catch up and celebrate one of our favorite holidays. Over break, I also plan on helping with other Easter activities. I volunteered at one of our local egg hunts, where I plan on helping the children and giving back to the community. I am looking forward to a relaxing break while also being able to contribute to the community.“
Similarly, Sophomore Sophia Shuster says, “During spring break, I plan on visiting my family. Both sides of my family live close, so we plan on spending time with both sets of grandparents. For Easter, we participate in a yearly Easter egg hunt. My grandparents hide eggs throughout the yard as my cousins and I compete for who can collect the most. After the egg hunt, we will all sit down and enjoy a family lunch. For the rest of the break, I will hang out with my friends. We have some plans to go shopping and spend quality time together.”
While some decided to stay local and visit family throughout the break, others decided to use this break to travel.
Senior Sam Gillis says, “Over break, I am traveling to Sarasota, Florida. I am very nervous because it is my first time flying. However, I am very excited because I have never visited Florida before. I am looking forward to escaping the cold and being able to go to the beach and the pool. I will use this break to catch up with my family and friends. I plan on getting back from vacation just in time to spend Easter with my family. On Easter, I will have a family dinner and enjoy family time. For the rest of the break, I plan on spending time with my friends, especially outside if the weather stays nice.”
Freshman Eli Gough is also traveling over the break. Gough says, “During Spring Break, I am traveling with the baseball team to Myrtle Beach. I am excited to be given this opportunity to play with my teammates in these tournaments. While there, I plan on spending most of my time playing baseball. Outside of baseball, I plan on spending more time with my teammates and also going to the beach. I want to enjoy the stores and activities nearby. I am looking forward to getting closer as a team and also improving my baseball skills.”
Junior Brianna Totten says, “During spring break, my family and I are traveling Emerald Isle, North Carolina. While there we have many activities planned, such as going to the zoo, the beach, and going out to dinner. I am excited to visit the little beach shops and to be able to lie by the pool. This break is going to be a good chance to relax and take a break from all my schoolwork. I will also have an opportunity to hang out with my old friends I have not gotten to see since school.”
Lakeview hopes everyone has a good break and comes back refreshed for the last nine weeks!
