Senior Dylan Clements is excited to be nearing the end of his high school education.
While being in his senior, he had some thoughts to share with us. Dylan was asked the question, “What is one thing you wish you knew as a freshman and why?” Dylan responded to this question by saying, “One thing I wish I knew was that your GPA does really matter. The effort that you put in to everything you do in your high school years should be at maximum effort. The moment you start your freshman year, you need to put in the effort to ensure success later in life.”
Next, I asked Clement “How has Lakeview changed you?” Dylan answered, “It has made me realize how life really works. It made me realize what is truly important in life and what you need to know in order to move forward in your life. And for that I am truly grateful.”
I then asked Dylan “What is one thing you will remember most about Lakeview and why?” Dylan said that, “The thing that I will remember the most from Lakeview is the memories I have made here. From elementary, to middle school, and now high school, these memories will be with me forever. The friendships I have made here will also be with me and I will never forget them. These memories and friendships are both the things I will hold onto the most as I move onto this next chapter in my life.”
While going through high school, you will most likely have a teacher that stands out the most to you. Whether they helped you out the most, or they are the funniest, or they had influenced you in a way you didn’t expect. I asked Dylan “What teacher has influenced you the most and why?” Dylan answered, “The teacher that has influenced me the most would be Mrs. Miller. This is because of how amazing of a teacher she has been. She always knows how to assist other students and helps me understand any problems that I need help with. If It were not for Mrs. Miller, then I do not believe that I would have succeeded in my math courses as well as I have.”
“What traditional events were you most excited for at the beginning of this final school year and why?” Dylan responded with, “I am most excited for prom at the end of my senior year. I feel like this would be the last big event with all the people in my class one last time. I know that I will thoroughly enjoy making more memories one last time with my friends and my classmates.”
I then asked Dylan to tell us about his favorite part or highlight of the year so far. Dylan said, “My favorite part of my senior year so far would have been homecoming. Homecoming was a blast for me and I for sure had a ton of fun. It was truly amazing to have one of the last school dances be such a memorable event.”
Dylan was asked, “what advice would you give to an underclassmen?” Dylan said, “If I were to give advice to an underclassman, it would be to cherish all four years of high school. You never really understand how short of a time you have until senior year comes around. This year flew by for me and continues to be going by fast present day. It amazes me how much I have missed just because I did not feel like going out or did not feel like doing something.”
With senior year coming to an end, Dylan is getting ready for the next chapter in his life. Dylan said the thing he is going to miss the most would be, “the atmosphere and the light and the energy people give off. It is an amazing place to be and I could not imagine myself anywhere else.”
Dylan also said that, “My next step in life is going to college. I plan on attending OHIO university to get my bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.”
Good luck Dylan as your senior year comes to an end and this next chapter in your life will be amazing!
