Senior Zoe Baker is getting closer to the end of the school year and graduation at Lakeview High School! Baker has been a student at Lakeview High School since Kindergarten and cannot wait to start college and a new chapter of her life!
Baker is very involved and has been an active member of extracurricular activities at Lakeview High School. She has been a part of the Girl’s Tennis Team for four years as well as the Marching band and symphonic band. Baker is also involved in the Executive Committee, Assemble For Change, and National Honors Society.
Baker loves being involved in her clubs and sports at Lakeview High School because of the experiences she gets to have! She shares her memories of the Marching band saying, “I really liked getting to participate in the senior activities for marching band. Going down in the 4th quarter to do the cheers with the student section was really fun.”
Baker shows her leadership skills through her special accomplishments by being the President and Officer of Senior Beta Club, Vice President of her class, first chair symphonic band, and has a Varsity Tennis Letter. While maintaining all of these roles and her grades, she maintained a job throughout High School at WedgeWood Pizza, Lake Vista, and babysitting as well.
As the end of her senior year nears, Baker reflects on her time spent at Lakeview.
When asked how Lakeview has changed her, she replied, “I’ve gotten more social and have gotten closer with people I didn’t really talk to before because of it. I have gained so many friendships and memories that without Lakeview I would have never made, which makes me so thankful!” Baker appreciates Lakeview and how it changed her as a person!
Baker is an overall great academic student at Lakeview and she was asked what advice she would give to underclassmen, sharing, “ To take at least one online class. There are lots of classes online that aren’t offered at Lakeview. It’s nice having the extra study hall and you’re getting college credit for the class.” Baker is right about that, she took online classes throughout High School which got her to where she is now!
At Lakeview High School, students make so many memorable experiences that will last a lifetime and Baker shares her favorite class memory saying, “My favorite in class memory is when we did the rocket project in Mr. Murphy’s class. Abby and I designed our rocket to look like our friend Trenton and it was one of the rockets that got the farthest. It was fun creating it too.”
As her high school career ends, Baker will never forget “Going to the Buckeye Invitational for Marching Band. It was fun shopping at Polaris with my friends and watching the Ohio State band play.” This is Baker’s favorite out of school memory because she got such a great opportunity from being a part of the Marching band!
Baker has made such great friends throughout school and when she was asked what she will miss the most about Lakeview, she responded with, “I am definitely going to miss my friends the most. They have helped me and supported me throughout my high school career which I appreciate a lot!”
Baker has so many great friends who she supports and who supports who. One of her friends, Senior Marissa Eddy shared about Baker saying, “Zoe has been my best friend since kindergarten, she is my biggest supporter and I’m so thankful to have her as a friend!”
After Graduation, Baker plans to “attend either Kent State or Ohio State University and want to major in business. I’m both excited and nervous about going to college.”
Congratulations and good luck to 2024 Senior Zoe Baker as she starts the next big chapter of her life!
