Ashley Solis is a 2024 Lakeview Top Dog! Solis has been a proud Bulldog since kindergarten. Solis is excited and nervous all at once to graduate!
At the beginning of Solis’s senior year she really adored football season. She really enjoys spending time with friends and making the most out of her last year. Solis has this to say about football season, “It really set the scene for my senior year and I will always remember the feelings of being in those stands on Friday night“!
Throughout her years at Lakeview Solis has participated heavily in the Lakeview community. Solis has been a proud member of Lakeview’s chapter of National Honors Society as well as student section leader. In her high school years Solis participated in basketball for 3 years, softball for 1 year, and ski club. As well, Solis is a proud member of the Junior Exec and Student Council!
Solis’s favorite part about her senior year so far was winning the “Best Friend” superlative with her best friend, Senior, Gianna Ferraro. Solis said, “That was something we always dreamed about and it was awesome to experience it.” This was especially special for Solis and Ferraro because they have been best friends for years.
For Solis, the hardest part of senior year has been knowing that she is experiencing something for the last time. I spoke to Solis and this is how she’s feeling, “It’s hard to know you will never get those moments back. In previous years you know everything will pretty much happen again but as a senior it’s your last time doing everything and making sure you do it fulfillingly”. It is hard for most to come to terms that they are growing up and a major life change is coming up.
Although Solis may be nervous and a bit sad to be leaving high school behind, she still has life long friends. Solis and Ferraro have been going to Lakeview since kindergarten and along the way they’ve become the best of friends. Ferraro had this to say about Solis, “Ashley has been my best friend since we were Little kids and I am so thankful that I have had Ashley by my side throughout these years. She is an amazing person and she never fails to brighten everyone’s days. I am so proud of her and can’t wait to see what her future brings her“! What a beautiful friendship!
In her years at Lakeview Solis has made another life-long friend, Senior Emerson Hyde. Hyde has gone to Lakeview her entire life as well as Solis. They both participate in the National Honors Society together. Over the years they have built a very strong bond. This is what Hyde had to say about Solis, “Ashley is someone you can count on for everything. She is always there for everyone around her and never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face. I’ve been friends with Ashley since elementary school and she’s never failed to make me feel important“. Childhood friends really are the best!
With senior year coming to a near end Solis has some words for those upcoming freshman or current underclassmen, “Worry less and enjoy the moment, be yourself because no one really cares that much“.
From the many years spent at Lakeview, Solis has found Chemistry teacher, Joshua Murphy to be the most influential, “Mr. Murphy has influenced me the most. He has given me the chance to learn many things about school, myself, and others. He has taught me about life through simple conversation“. Solis also feels she will remember the community the most!
Good luck to Solis and all her future adventures outside of Lakeview High School! Go Dogs!
