Elizabeth Fazekas is Lakeview’s upcoming Top Dog! Fazekas has been a proud Bulldog since Kindergarten. Fazekas is eager to graduate and head off to the next journey in her life!
At the beginning of this year, Fazekas was more than excited for her senior dances as well as the senior trip. She loves to get dressed up for the dances but most importantly she loves having fun with her friends. Fazekas also added that the senior trip, “will be a great last chance to make more memories with my friends before high school is over.”
Throughout her years here at Lakeview High School, Fazekas has participated in plenty of clubs to fill up with resume. She is an active member of the National Honors Society as well as Senior Beta Club. She has also participated in Executive Committee, Assemble for Change, and Ski Club. Not only is Fazekas active in many clubs, but she is also a proud Majorette!
Her favorite memory throughout high school was made during her junior Majorette season. Fazekas said, “When the band took our trip to Florida, we were able to spend two days at DisneyWorld. At Magic Kingdom, we were able to march down Main Street at the park. I will never forget how happy and surreal it was to march past Cinderella’s Castle.” Fazekas was especially happy with this trip because she is a huge Disney fan.
So far, Fazekas’ most difficult part about senior year has been accepting that this is the last time she will be able to experience her favorite parts of high school. Fazekas said, “It’s definitely an adjustment to realize that I’ll never perform at a football game again or go to homecoming.” Even when she heard about try-outs for next season she was a little sad to think about how she would not be trying out this year.
While Fazekas is happy to never experience the nervousness of try outs again, she is sad to say goodbye. Being a majorette was such a large part of who Fazekas was here at Lakeview. Fazekas even said, “By representing Lakeview as a majorette, I have been able to grow my confidence.” Not only did being a majorette change Fazekas as a person, but Lakeview did too.
Lakeview has prepared Fazekas for her future more than anything. However, the most important thing that she gained from Lakeview was her friendships and memories. Fazekas wishes she could tell her freshman self that high school isn’t so scary and that you will find your place as well as having fun making new memories, joining clubs, and making new friendships.
Not only did Fazekas have a message for her past self, but she also had advice for the underclassmen. Fazekas said, “I think it’s really important to cherish the time you have with your friends because pretty soon all of you guys will probably be splitting up.” Even though Fazekas is excited about graduating and heading off to college, she finds it important to not take the time you have in high school for granted.
With graduation approaching, Fazekas has set her future plans in stone. She will be heading off to Bowling Green State University to major in Biology. Not only did Fazekas work hard and receive a full tuition scholarship to BGSU, but she will also be attending their honors college and honors learning community.
With Fazekas ready to head off, she is “really excited to start college, have new experiences, and meet new people.”
Good luck to 2024 senior Elizabeth Fazekas as she moves on to the next big step in her life!
