Bulldog Kyle Senkowitz is currently in his senior year of high school. He has been a player on the basketball team since he was a freshman and grew to become one of the best on the team in his senior year.
Within the time of being a freshman and becoming a senior, you tend to learn a lot on the way. Senkowitz said that on thing he knew as a freshman was, “Go to every football game, volleyball game, and girls game you can. Going to any sporting event in high school is something you can only do during your high school years. The more you miss out on, the more regret you will have when you get older. Take every opportunity you can. This is about the only time you can in this community.”
Senkowitz has been a student of Lakeview since Elementary school. During this time, Lakeview has had an effect on Senkowitz and he said, “It made me appreciate the people around me. With being a student at a relatively smaller school, you get to know everyone around you. I began to appreciate the good in all these people really help make school enjoyable.”
Since Senkowitz is a senior this year, he will be moving onto another chapter in his life. This means that he will unfortunately have to leave some things behind. Senkowitz said the thing he will remember the most would be, “My classmates at Lakeview. They have made every interaction and class enjoyable for me.”
Classmates and friends are definitely very important to students throughout high school. However, let’s not forget about the teachers as well. Senkowitz mentioned that the teacher who had influenced him the most would be, “Coach Baker, even though he never taught me in a classroom he taught me many things during the basketball year. His leadership really helped me out in all aspects of my life.”
Despite that we are headed towards the end of the year, there is still more to be looking forward to. Senkowitz said, “I am very excited for Prom this year. Although I did not attend Prom last year, I hope that this year it will be a fun experience overall.”
Senkowitz got the play his final season of basketball this year. He has played for four years of high school and his favorite part of his senior year was, “Boys basketball senior night was definitely my favorite night of my senior year.”
Senior year can become challenging at times since it is your last year of high school. Everyone has their own struggles and thought on being a senior and it can be conflicting for some. Senkowitz said that, ” The most challenging part of my senior year would be only having a limited amount of time with my classmates. I have been in a classroom with these people for my whole life and this has had an effect on me. Having only so much time left has definitely been the hardest thing for me.”
Senkowitz has needed inspiration to get through his high school career. He said that, “I always wanted to push myself further and further and consistently try to one up myself.”
Kyle Senkowitz will be continuing his education at Ohio University. As he moves onto this next chapter in his life, he had one thing to say for the underclassmen, “Enjoy the ride, it goes very very fast.” With that being said, let us wish him good luck as he continues his final weeks in high school, and good luck to him as he goes away to college where he will continue to grow and push himself.
