Saige Muresan, Lakeview’s newest Top Dog, is ready to graduate high school. After spending most of her life with her classmates, it is time to start a new chapter.
After asking Muresan multiple questions about her time here at Lakeview, she had many positive things to say. She states, “One thing I will remember most about Lakeview is everything we do here. Such as spirit week, pep rallies, dances, etc. I will miss being gathered together with my friends and having a blast.” From this, it is clear that Muresan formed great memories in her high school years.
Muresan has played a huge role in community service, helping her town whenever needed. She is not only a part of the NHS choir, and Drama Club, but is also president of Publications and Assemble for Change! Muresan could always be spotted at athletic events and school functions, supporting the programs by taking millions of photos. She also claims to have been the bulldog mascot her junior year!
So far this year, Muresan’s favorite part of senior year has been the Lakeview staff. She says, “My favorite part of senior year so far is the teachers I have. I genuinely have learned a lot about the course and my teachers personally. Another thing was the Drama Club. I have been in this club for 3 years and I absolutely love it. I love being able to learn lines and be with a group who truly understands who you are.” This goes to show how much appreciation Muresan has for the Lakeview community.
Although all seems great, her senior year hasn’t always been easy. Muresan states that the most difficult part of this year has been “the workload I have gotten. With work outside of school, schoolwork, and applying for colleges and scholarships, it has been pretty stressful.”
Due to these discrepancies, She urges the underclassman to see it through. Additionally, she wants them to know “that it is okay to be yourself in a world full of unsure people. Do not worry about how they are but remember to stay true to the values you have. I would also say do not stress so much about school but to just have as much fun as you can while you are here, find joy in everything.”
Throughout the years, Muresan has gained multiple friends, some of which will last a lifetime. Junior Lizzy Gorman had nothing but positive things to say about her! She says, “Saige is the type of person who sees the good in someone even when no one else can. She’s always searching. To have her friendship is a blessing.” From this, it is clear that Gorman values their relationship just as much as Muresan does!
Senior Clover Wagner was also very appreciative of Muresan. When talking to her about Muresan’s future, she said Muresan is, “motivated, friendly, passionate, and compassionate. She is a hard-working individual who puts her heart and soul into everything she does.” Like Gorman, Wagner loves the relationship she formed with Muresan, and can’t wait to see where life takes them.
After looking back on her freshman year, Muresan realizes that “the thing that has inspired me most throughout my high school career is how well our principal can handle things. Mr. Herrholtz has done a tremendous job of coaching us throughout this year and also helping us whenever we have needed it.”
Now looking into the future, Muresan says, “My next steps in life is to go to college to Major in Social Work and Minor in Student Ministries. I feel bittersweet about it all, but I am excited about this new chapter. I am excited to be able to explore different things and adult life. Being able to just be on my own and my schedule will be amazing. I am still unsure which college I am exactly going to but I have it narrowed down to a select few.” Muresan’s future is looking bright, and will hopefully be very successful!
Good luck to Muresan and her life journey outside of Lakeview High School!
