Senior Nolan Toth has been impacted by many people at Lakeview and has made many memories throughout his years. He is very thankful for the people that he has met and how they have changed him. Toth says, “The people around me have shown me how to be the best version of myself. Coaches, teachers, and peers have helped lead by example and show me how to mature and prepare me for the world beyond Lakeview.”
Ever since Toth started at Lakeview he has always felt welcomed. One teacher who had a big impact on Toth was sophomore English teacher Jenna Hogue. Throughout his high school career, he and his friends always could rely on her. Toth said she was a great example for her students, by showing them how to have fun along with giving them a good education. Toth had many teachers in high school who made great impacts on him and inspired him. Someone who had a great influence on him like Hogue is library aide Margie Petrunia. Toth states, “Mrs. Petrunia has inspired me to always help others in need.”
Toth has created countless memories with his classmates. Such as some traditional events like Homecomings and Proms because it would bring the school together. One of Toth’s favorite memories from High school was, “My favorite class memory has to be when Jake Nicholas walked into Mrs. Hogue’s classroom dressed as Julius Caesar for a project. It was completely extra and hilarious for us all and that memory embodies how fun that class was.” He also spent lots of time outside of school hanging out with his friends. His favorite memory with his friends was going to Cedar Point last year after prom.
Toth is very well known and a part of many things at Lakeview High School. He was on the Football and Baseball teams for the past four years and was even football captain in his junior year. He has made many memories of being a part of those teams. Toth had a very successful Senior football season making it to playoffs for the first time and winning a couple of games.
Toth says his favorite memory of football was, “My football senior night against Hubbard was the most fun I have ever had playing a football game and one of the best games I have ever played personally.”
Toth also had many successes in his baseball career, with one being him being a part of the team his Junior year when they were district champions. Toths personal favorite memory from baseball is, “My favorite memory has to be the walkoff win we had sophomore year in baseball. We thought we were going to have a terrible loss against a bad team and somehow came back and it was so hype.”
With almost being done with four years of high school the main thing that Toth would change and do a little differently is, “Take everything seriously because when you get to your senior year you will realize it matters a lot. If I could go back to my freshman year I would for sure try to learn more throughout the hybrid learning phase throughout Covid.” As a graduation senior Toth recommends underclassmen to always live in the moment because one day you will be missing it.
As the year is slowly coming to an end Toth states that the most difficult part this year has been, “Getting through classes you have no interest in and that are boring when you know you are so close to it being over.” Other than that Toth is going to miss talking to his teachers every day and getting to know them.
After graduating high school Toth has some big plans ahead of him, consisting of attending Ohio University to study Physical Therapy. He is scared of moving away from home, but he is excited and ready to begin a new journey.
Good Luck to 2024 Senior Nolan Toth as he moves into his next chapter in life.
