Andrew Brown is one of Lakeviews 2024 Top Dogs! Brown has been attending Lakeview since Kindergarten and has many plans for after.
During the school year, Brown has joined several activities. He is a strong participant in baseball, football, and the National Honor Society. Throughout Brown’s senior year, he has several memories from these clubs.
Brown explains his favorite memory was game ten against Beaver Local, saying, “I had 3 interceptions and played the best game of my life. It was the most fun I had ever had playing football.” This excitement for playing was carried out throughout the rest of the season.
Brown mentions how the highlight of his senior year is also surrounded by football. Brown states, “My highlight of the year so far was making it to the playoffs in football. We were the first team to make it to the playoffs in a long time.” This is exciting because the 2024 team is the first team in years to make it this far! The team ended up with a 6-4 winning record.
Brown’s extracurriculars also influenced his future as well. Throughout his high school experience, one of the teachers inspired him deeply. Brown explains Mr. Carson greatly impacted his time at Lakeview. Carson was his teacher for two years and coach for three. Brown explains, “His work ethic is second to none and I know he cares about me. Whether it is in the classroom or on the field, I know Mr. Carson always gave me his maximum effort and time.”
A good work ethic is also a quality Brown has. Brown has an inspiring work ethic and has many plans for after graduation. While he does not have a specific college selected, he has got his plans together. Brown plans on attending college for electrical engineering and to pursue his athletic career. However, this path has not always been easy. Brown mentions the hardest part of his senior year was, “the decision on where to go to college and what major I want to pursue.”
Outside of activities, Brown spends a lot of time with his friends. He mentions how Lakeview brought him close to his friends, explaining, “I have a ton of friends here and some of my best memories are hanging with those friends and having fun.”
Outside of school, he also enjoys spending time with these people. Brown recalls his favorite memory by saying, “Some of my friends and I went on a trip to Hocking Hills over the summer of 2020. It was an absolute blast, and I grew so close to all the friends that I have now.”
These friends are also what Brown is going to miss most about Lakeview, he says, “All the fun times and the people. I have so many friends that are going far away to college and some I may never see again. It is sad to think that this is the last time I will ever make memories with them.”
While senior year is bittersweet, there is still a lot to follow. While Brown’s favorite activity has passed, there are still some exciting things coming up for him. During his time at school, he mentions his favorite event by saying, “Homecoming was the event I was most excited for. Homecoming is always a lot of fun and the homecoming football game is always great because it brings a lot of energy and packs the stands.”
However, there are some upcoming events Brown is looking forward to as well. Prom is coming up this next month and Brown is looking forward to it. Brown says, “I’m excited for prom because it is my last school dance at Lakeview. It will be the last time I get to dress up with my friends.”
As the year wraps up, Lakeview wishes you the best Andrew Brown!
