Tyler Hovance is a Top Dog of the graduating class of 2024! He has attended Lakeview since Kindergarten. The school year is soon coming to an end. This means that Hovance must set his plans for the future into motion, whilst reflecting on his time spent at this school and the connections he made along the way.
Hovance “will remember sports the most out of everything. I made a lot of good lasting friendships and memories. I also learned some important life lessons.”
He participated in football for four years, track and field for one year, baseball for two years, and basketball for two years. These sports each had a key role in Hovance’s Lakeview experience. As he stated, sports is a main contributor to the companions and important memories he now holds. When he is not at school or participating in extracurricular activities, Hovance works at Brother’s Pizza. Otherwise, he is occupied having fun with friends!
Fellow senior Jack Peterson commented on Hovance’s character in saying , “Tyler is very down to earth. He’s always a great time no matter the time or place. He’s been an outstanding friend and is a great character.”
Another friend of Hovance’s, senior Jake Nicholas, recalls many details of their admirable years of friendship.
Nicholas shares, “Over the last decade, Tyler and I shared countless memories. Our friendship first began when playing baseball for Doctor Hart’s team. Since then we’ve only become closer. Tyler’s always been someone I could count on, no matter what. I’m grateful to have had a friend like him in my life and I’m excited to keep growing and making memories with him. Although we’re headed to different colleges I know he’ll always have my back.”
Hovance is portrayed as reliable and supportive through the accounts of some of his closest friends. Likewise, he admires them and appreciates how he was able to build such strong bonds in his years spent here. Hovance also believes that he has grown as a result of his time at Lakeview.
Hovance was asked what he was going to miss most about Lakeview.
He responded, “I will miss the laughs shared with my friends in the school’s hallways and classrooms. I will also miss the staff and the relationships I had with them.”
Hovance claims that he is unable to pick a specific favorite memory regarding his span of experiences at Lakeview. In specific reference to the staff, however, there was one teacher who he claims influenced him the most.
He “would say Mr. Romano has influenced me the most out of the teachers here at Lakeview. He’s been a great role model and has always helped me to be the best version of myself.”
Hovance appreciates all staff members and what they have done for him in his time here. Lakeview is proud of him and hopeful for what lies ahead. In regards to this, Hovance was able to elaborate on his plans for after graduation.
He states, “I will be attending Kent State. From there I will be participating in their construction management program. While attending Kent State I hope to serve the community like I did my hometown Cortland, Ohio. After my time spent at Kent State, I hope to work for a medium sized construction firm, doing all the things I can for them, and then going on to open my own construction business.”
Through this well thought out plan, he has a seemingly very bright future! This school and all of its staff and students wish him nothing but the best for all that he strives to accomplish, and they cannot wait to see all that is in store!
