Ty Goyzueta is a senior at Lakeview. He has played tennis for Lakeview for three years and he has been a good student at school as well. As students progress through the years from being a freshman and all the way up to being a senior, they tend to learn some things and learn from their mistakes along the way. Goyzueta mentioned how, “If I could go back to my freshman year, I would participate in more school activities. Whether this was going to more football, basketball, or baseball games, or even just going to some events that Lakeview has hosted.”
Goyzueta has been a student at Lakeview ever since elementary school. As a result, he has been at Lakeview for a majority of his life. Goyzueta said that Lakeview affected him by, “Molding and forming me into a better person. With the influence from teachers and other friends and classmates, it made me into the person I am today.”
Goyzueta will be attending Kent State University this upcoming fall. While moving onto his next chapter in life, he will be leaving some things behind. One of those things being Lakeview itself.
He mentioned that, “The thing I will remember most about Lakeview is the relationships that I have built and the people that I have met. The friends that I have made and my friends still do this day, have came from being in the classroom or sports team with them. Lakeview had helped me make friends and I will never forget them.”
Not only will he be leaving some friends behind, but teachers as well. Teachers are a big part of any student’s school career. Goyzueta states that, “Senior Swinning has been the most influential teacher for me because he treated his students like friends. He doesn’t act like he is superior to us, rather he is equal. That is what makes him such a good teacher.”
It’s cool to look ahead into the future, but it’s also important to live in the moment. There are so many things going on in high school and you should enjoy every moment. Goyzueta recalls that, “I am am most excited about prom and homecoming because they only happen once a year and they’re always a good time.”
As we head into the end of the year, there might be a strange feeling for some of the seniors. Goyzueta says that, “The most difficult part about senior year is knowing that in a few months I will never see some of the people that I am sitting in class with ever again. Soon I will be on a big college campus with people I have never met before.”
Goyzueta said some advice he would give to the underclassmen would be, “Stay active in school events, and try new things. You are only in high school for four years, so enjoy them and make every moment last.” As for college, Goyzueta’s plans are, “I am going to Kent State University for Economics and although it’s scary to think that I am moving out, I am still excited to start a new journey and create many new memories.”
Let’s all wish Ty a good rest of the year and wish him good luck as he moves onto his next chapter in life!
