The 2024-2025 school year has begun which means we have a new upcoming senior class. This years seniors have a long list of activities to complete throughout their very last year of high school. The class of 2025 has already started some of their senior activities, but have a long way to go.
When you first walk in the main doors of our high school, you are greeted by the list of activities the senior executive club put together. The first one on the list was the first last day of school. Many seniors this year were distraught about this milestone, but I also heard from a few who were very excited for this day to come.
Senior Gage Woofter had mixed emotions. Woofter said, “On my last first day of school, I didn’t know how to feel. I was excited that it was my last year here but also sad that I am going to have to part from the friends I have made along the way. I spent the day reminiscing about all the good memories I have made at Lakeview. As sad as it is that it is our last year together, I am excited for what this year is going to bring me.”
The most recent activity the class of 2025 participated in was senior sunrise. On August 30th the students gathered on the football field at 6:30 in the morning to watch the sunrise together. Everyone who attended enjoyed their time together, ate donuts provided by our assistant principal, Michael Detoro.
One senior in particular who enjoyed the senior sunrise was Carson Conrad. Conrad said, “Senior sunrise was very emotional for me. At the beginning of the year I vowed to participate in every senior activity that I could this year because if I didn’t, I may regret it one day. I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to watch the sunrise together as the senior class. I believe watching the sunrise together is a really meaningful experience and I am looking forward to senior sunset as well.”
Furthermore, it is safe to say that the senior sunrise was a great activity for the seniors to do together and want to say thank you to the staff and everyone else who made it possible.
As previously mentioned, there is a list by the main doors of all the activities the seniors have left to complete. The remaining activities for the year include: last homecoming, senior trip, last prom, last day of school, senior parade/ walkthrough, senior sunset, and graduation.
These events are very exciting, however, many of them are not happening until the end of the year. There are a lot of people looking forward to those activities, but it is no secret that our next activity to complete is definitely the most popular.
The class of 2025’s last homecoming is in less three weeks. All of the seniors are very excited for their last homecoming dance, especially because this year it is going to be held at the Event Centre in the Eastwood Mall Complex.
Senior Aanna Athey said, “I am really excited for homecoming because it is our last one so I know the senior class will be going all out. I can’t wait to see everyone’s dresses, hair, and makeup, as well as the experience itself. Every year so far homecoming has either been in the middle school or the high school, so I am excited to see how the dance at the Event Centre is. Even though it’s not at Lakeview, I know the senior class will still be able to make it memorable.”
Good luck to the class of 2025. Let us be the best graduating class yet.
