As we jump into the school year so do some new faces, like new Bulldog Mackenzie Frantz. Although this is her first here at Lakeview this is not her first year teaching students. Earning her bachelor’s degree at Youngstown State University, she previously taught as a substitute taking on algebra, geometry and seventh grade math at Ashtabula Area City School.
Her motive for becoming a Bulldog was not just an open teaching position but the fact she would be closer to her hometown Kinsman.
Frantz states, “My primary focus is to help students grow both their enthusiasm and understanding of mathematics. I believe that fostering a positive attitude towards math can significantly enhance their learning experience. By the end of this year, I hope to see my students not only improving in their math skills but also gaining confidence in their abilities.”
Frantz is deeply committed to making her students better at their academics and really works to make them feel valued and heard. She strives to help students and make them more comfortable in the math world.
Students are very excited and already comfortable with Frantz and her teaching style. Freshman Annalise Lowe states, “I think Mrs. Frantz’s classroom is very nice, she is also very welcoming and is always super nice to you anytime you have a question. She also makes sure everyone understands what she says and everything before she moves onto something new which is great because everyone has different learning speeds.”
She brings such a positive environment to all students, really pushing them to be the best they can be.
Math is not an easy subject to learn. “Math is something that never came easy to me but being in Mrs. Frantz’s class learning this is a piece of cake,” states Lowe.
Another student states, “I myself remember having such an incredible and beneficial experience with Mrs Frantz. She was my 5th grade student teacher back at Maplewood. I’ve always had an intense struggle in math but she really helped me and pushed me to do the best I could and to put my best foot forward in learning things that were more challenging. She was always very patient and supportive when teaching. My grade in math dramatically improved that year and I was very excited to finally understand what I had been struggling with for so long.”
This really demonstrates the amazing teaching ways Frantz has. Helping students who may struggle a little more than others really is something that stands out and is highly appreciated. When students really comprehend what’s going on it shows them that they know what they’re doing which will surely boost their confidence. She makes her students not feel embarrassed when not understanding the lesson. She tries to help her students the best she can because she knows what a positive environment it can create. When students know what’s going on and what to do, it makes them want to communicate and participate more in class.
Leann Shafer, freshman states, “Mrs. Frantz is a really encouraging teacher. Her teaching methods are both fun and very helpful. She really helps me understand and makes me learn more about math. She makes learning fun, which is something I never thought I’d say about all of my other classmates who have nothing but good things to say about her.”
Lakeview is lucky to have such an amazing and helpful teacher. She really creates such a positive environment for each and every student. Students really have the opportunity to engage and learn in her classroom. She really takes the time to understand each of her students’ learning styles and adapts to them. She provides so much support to help them achieve their goals. Her encouraging demeanor really sticks out to her students giving them such a positive uplifting environment.
Mrs. Frantz’s is such a great addition to our teaching staff. Her experience, innovative teaching styles, and commitment to making her students successful make her such a valuable new asset. Everyone is very confident she will inspire and really push her students to reach their full potential and develop a lifetime amount of skills.
Lakeview is so excited to welcome Mrs. Frantz to the community and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her and her students.
