As the winter chill begins, the Lakeview Bulldogs baseball team preps up for yet another exciting season. The anticipation for the spring is palpable in the air as players and coaches prepare for what promises to be another rewarding season. As baseball open fields start inviting new players to join the team, the previous players are very excited for their return back onto the field.
Junior player, Hayden Newton states, “As the 2025 baseball season approaches, I am excited to continue on from where we left off last year. This year, we want to improve upon the mistakes that we made in prior years. Our goal is to hopefully bring back another district title, like we did my freshman year.”
The Bulldogs, known for their tenacity and team spirit, are determined to make this season another great one. For the season, they start months in advance. The players have been hitting the weight room since the end of last season, focusing on building their strength and endurance.
Coach Carson, who has been with the team for 4 years, emphasizes on the importance of prepping their physical fitness before the season, “Its an important step in continuing our team culture and setting high expectations for the season ahead.”
The training sessions are grueling, but the players understand that the hard work they put on now will pay off when they’re on the field. In addition to weight training, the team has already been hitting. Is preparation designed to improve their agility, speed, and overall athleticism. As well as their weight training and hitting, it seems to be like some of the players have been putting on work outside of the field.
Junior player Nathan Paolucci states, “With my pitching practices outside of school baseball, it helps me stay consistent with my playing and makes a very big impact with how I play during the school season and I’m ready to take on my leadership role this season.”
The Bulldogs are ready to take on the challenges of the upcoming season for the spring, with their unwavering determination, strong work ethic, and sense of unity, they are poised to make a significant impact. The journey ahead will undoubtedly be filled with highs and lows, but the Bulldogs are prepared to face it all head-on. With the open fields, they have been welcoming environment for new players looking to make their mark. For returning players, these open field sessions are a chance to shake off the rest and get back into the swing of things. After a long season, it’s essential to rebuild muscle memory and refine their technique. The Bulldogs have been focusing on fundamental skills such as fielding, throwing, and of course hitting. The sounds of bats connecting with the balls echoes across the field, a promising sign of hard work being put on by each player.

So as our schools baseball team continues their early preparations, the excitement and dedication are evident in the open field practices.
