Lakeview High School students are anticipating one of the three dance events at the school. This event takes place on February 8, 2025, 7-9 P.M. The theme of this year’s Winter Formal is Cupid’s Garden. The price of admission is $10 per person. Tickets must be purchased in the cafeteria prior to the event beginning 01/27/25. No students will be admitted at the door unless previously purchasing a ticket in the cafeteria. There will be a table set up with students selling the tickets in the cafeteria. Find time during your lunch to purchase one!
As the dance is quickly creeping up on the Bulldogs, the whispers of what dresses to choose, and who to take fills classrooms with excitement. Junior Adison Lenox speaks on her readiness going into the dance, “I picked out two dresses to wear, just in case one doesn’t fit. One is pink with sparkles, and the other is light blue and strapless!”
For the students who usually shy away from the dances because of how large of a group setting it is, this is the perfect dance for you! Because only Lakeview students can attend, there is a perfect amount of people, and it’s always fun because it doesn’t get overcrowded or too hot.
Make the plans to get ready and maybe even take pictures or go out to eat with your friends beforehand! With that, you get to enjoy a night filled with long lasting memories and fun music!
After asking the question, What are your plans for the day of the dance?, Junior Ava Papas voices, “I’m looking forward to picking out a dress, and having a great time. I also have a group that I will be going with, and that is my friends. I’m beyond excited!”
Not only does being able to make countless memories from this dance sound exciting, but also having the grand opportunity to showcase your own personal creativity and style. Being able to add your creativity gives you an extra layer of excitement, and knowing that you will showcase it in a little amount of time is so hard to wait for, but rewarding in the end. Who doesn’t want to dress up and look good?
Junior Sophia Shuster was asked the question What are you looking most forward to about the winter formal? She answered saying, “The thing I’m definitely looking forward to is getting ready with all of my friends and having a great night!”
Beyond the dance being a way to socialize with your friends and have fun, you also have the opportunity to make more friends. You are able to have personal growth, create memories, and build your community. Encourage your friends in your grade and even other grade levels to come to the dance and have fun! What are you going to lose by going to the dance? Absolutely nothing. But, you can lose the chance of creating long-lived memories, that you could cherish forever.
The Formal isn’t just a dance, it’s also a window of opportunity to celebrate your youth, journey, accomplishments, etc. Shining at the vibrant evening reminds every student of precious moments by being able to step out of their comfort zone. With the shining lights in the dark room filled with a bouncing beat, everyone dances to the music and the room fills with countless memories and laughter.
As this is the last dance opportunity for grades 9-10, make sure you go and purchase a ticket for the price of $10 in the cafeteria before the deadline. Don’t forget to also have your friends do the same! You never know what you can miss out on. Try new things and get out there, making countless memories. This dance could be something you learn to love!
