When February rolls around, we know love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is a day to appreciate our loved ones and those closest to our hearts. Although the Bulldogs usually have school on Valentine’s Day, this year is an exception.
Yes, that is right! The Bulldogs scored an extra day off the calendar this year. Although this is just by chance, it is still a blessing in disguise. With this day landing on the 14th, it allows Lakeview to spend the day making plans with the people they love.
Valentine’s Day is a holiday that is often overlooked. However, the Bulldogs have been doing their best to highlight this special occasion. Recently, carnations and cupid grams have been sold in the cafeteria. Although a small gesture, these gifts would make someone’s day! This is not the only attempt to appreciate the holiday. The annual Winter formal is being held on February 8th as well! So, if you have someone special in mind, invite them to the dance!
Lakeview is filled with love and appreciation for one another. With that being said, many couples will be making plans on their day off. Seniors Addison Briell and Griffin Oravec are two prime examples. Not only were they prom prince and princess, but these two also got nominated for class couple!
Oravec is very excited about the upcoming holiday, exclaiming that he “can’t wait to have an extra day off! I am so excited to spend the day with Addy and have dinner later that night!”
From this, it is clear Oravec is planning something very special for her! Oravec is not the only one prepared for this day, but Briell is as well! She is looking forward to Valentine’s Day, saying “This Valentine’s Day is going to be so fun and special! Griffin and I are planning to recreate our first date. We are going to watch a movie in the theater and have dinner together! I am looking forward to the day off as well!” From this, it is clear the couple has great things to look forward to!
Oravec and Briell are not the only Bulldogs in a relationship. Juniors Kalyssa Werner and Isaiah Lantz are also planning on having a special Valentine’s Day! Werner is very excited for this day to roll around, stating “I can not wait to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. It is always so fun planning things out and spending time together! I think this year Isaiah and I are planning to go to dinner and spend the rest of the day with each other!” Werner is very excited to spend the holiday doing things with the people she loves!
If you find yourself free on Valentine’s Day, come out and support your Lakeview boy’s basketball team as they face Berkshire at home! The game will be full of entertainment, especially because the cheerleaders are performing a Valentine’s Day dance! They have been practicing this routine for a couple of weeks now, and can not wait to show everyone their talent!
If you are feeling extra festive, Dunkin Donuts just released their Valentine’s Day menu, and the famous brownie batter donut is back! If you have not tried this already, you should find time to visit. They are delicious!
It is important to remember that Valentine’s Day does not always have to be about romantic relationships. This day represents love from one person to another. Whether it be a mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, or best friend, take time to appreciate the people you care about! Spend time with your family and make fun plans with your friends! Love and appreciation are in the air, so let’s celebrate that!
