Lakeview High School is welcoming a new teacher with open arms, Jaclyn Muccio! Muccio is a brand new teacher this year at Lakeview High School. She is currently teaching English to her 8th grade classes.
Muccio is a graduate from Austintown Fitch High School in Mahoning County, while also playing soccer throughout her high school career. Muccio majored in education while choosing to stay local at Youngstown State University. While asking Muccio how she is enjoying Lakeview so far she exclaimed, “I really like this school district and all the kids here as well as all of the teachers.” We hope she continues to think of Lakeview High School this positively throughout the year!
I asked 8th grader Annalise Lowe how she was enjoying Muccio as her English teacher so far this school year at Lakeview High School and she stated, “Miss Muccio is very nice to her students and has an amazing teaching style because she does her lesson and then lets us be independent. Which is allowing us to really learn the material in front of us.” Lowe seems to be really enjoying Muccio as her English teacher this year!
I then asked another 8th grader Ella Pompoco how she felt about having Muccio as her English teacher this year and she said, “Miss Muccio is very nice and always tries to maintain a good attitude towards her students. She’s very helpful when she is needed, and makes her work load reasonable while also giving lots of in class time to complete the work she gives out.” Pompoco seems to be enjoying her first year in Lakeview High School with Muccio as her 8th grade English teacher!
This year Muccio’s classroom is Angela Sarko’s old classroom in room number 224. Sarko was a speech, publications, and even a College Writing 1 teacher within that classroom. Sarko has been moved to the media center this year in place of Andria Morningstar-Gray who was Lakeview High School’s librarian last year. Sarko moving into the media center allowed Muccio to take over her now owned room and design it in her own unique way. Muccio’s classroom has been decorated with a lot of the color pink and inspirational quotes towards her students to look at throughout the school day. Muccio’s classroom seems to be an environment where everyone can enjoy themselves, stay positive, and also get their work done while in there.
I was curious as to how Muccio’s coworkers were feeling about her arrival at Lakeview High School this year, so I asked another English teacher Jenna Hogue. Hogue is an academic as well as an honors English teacher for the sophomore class. Hogue exclaimed, “Miss Muccio is such a confident, kind, and creative addition to not only our English staff, but for Lakeview collectively. We are so lucky to have her this year in the 8th grade staff.” It seems like Muccio is making her way this year at Lakeview High School in teaching English and in the friend category!
While wanting to see how more of Muccio’s students felt about her this year, I asked 8th grader Kylee Marlett how she felt about having Muccio as her 8th grade english teacher this year and she stated, “She puts a lot of effort into seeing each and every one of her students succeed in the classroom.” Marlett expresses happiness that her English teacher does everything in her power to see her succeed in the classroom.
Muccio may be a new teacher this year at Lakeview High School, but there is no doubt she is having no trouble making herself feel at home in a new setting with everyone around her.
