Spring break is often seen as a time to step away from daily routines, recharge, and create lifelong memories. For students and families alike, spring break gives everyone a chance to travel, reconnect, or simply rest. This year, Lakeview students made the most of their time in ways that reflected what they needed most.
For Lakeview senior MaKenna Doran, spring break was all about relaxation and stepping away from the usual pressures of school life.
Doran explained, “For spring break, I spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying a break from school. I went shopping a few times, which was really fun, and I also spent a lot of time chilling around my house. I used the week to relax, catch up on sleep, spend time at home, and just enjoy having time off from my normal routine.”
After months of assignments, tests, and early mornings, simply having the chance to sleep in and unwind can feel refreshing. Even small activities, like shopping or spending time at home can be meaningful when they are done without stress. For many students, this kind of break is exactly what they need to reset their minds and prepare for the final stretch of the school year.
Similarly, senior Ava Pappas spent her break in a simple and enjoyable way. She shared, “Over spring break, I hung out with my friends and family while also getting ready for nice weather!”
Pappas’ break highlights how spring break is not only a time for rest, but also a time to appreciate the incoming nice weather. As warmer days approach, many people feel motivated to spend more time outdoors and reconnect with others. Whether it’s going for walks, sitting outside, or making plans with friends, the change in season brings a sense of excitement and renewal. Hanging out with friends and family becomes even more enjoyable when there is no rush to complete assignments or study for exams.
Senior Lilli Smith also emphasized the importance of both relaxation and connection during her break. She explained, “Over spring break, I enjoyed spending time with my family and friends. I also spent a lot of time relaxing and doing nothing at all, which in my opinion was the best part.”
Smith’s break reflects a balance that many students don’t often get during the school year. Taking time to slow down, step away from responsibilities, and spend time with loved ones can make a big difference in overall well- being. Sometimes, the best moments come from simply doing nothing, giving students a chance to reset and come back feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of the school year.
Ultimately, spring break is less about what you do and more about how it makes you feel. For many students, it is a chance to reset mentally and emotionally before returning to school. It provides a break from the constant pressure of deadlines and responsibilities, allowing students to focus on themselves and their well-being. Sometimes, the simplest experiences, like resting at home, spending time with friends, or enjoying the quiet moments, are the ones that leave the biggest impact.
As Lakeview students return to their routines, many carry a renewed sense of energy and motivation that helps them finish the school year strong. This refreshed mindset can make a noticeable difference in both academic performance and overall attitude, helping students feel more focused and positive in their daily lives. In the end, spring break serves as an important reminder that taking time to rest and recharge is not only enjoyable, but necessary for success and happiness, helping students maintain balance throughout the school year.
