On Friday, May 8th, 2026, three buses loaded Lakeview High school seniors as they ventured off to their senior trip. A senior trip at the end of the year is a popular tradition at Lakeview high school, serving as a final celebration. This year the class president, Isabella Isenberg, and members of the senior executive committee discussed and chose to go to Kennywood this year.
Where to go for the trip was put into the hands of the students, as Isenberg states, “picking the where to go on the senior trip was a decision that myself and the senior executive were excited to help make!” For class president Isenberg this hasn’t been the only thing she has to plan, however with the help of the senior exec. some pressure was taken off of her.
When weighing out the options, Isenberg claimed, “We put a lot of thought into the options we presented the class with to vote on and ultimately I think the class choice to go to Kennywood was a great one! Between the options to go on rides or play games with fellow classmates there were so many opportunities to bond with each other one last time together before we graduate!”
For many students, this marked their first time on a roller coaster, making this trip especially exciting. The thrill of trying something new alongside friends added an extra layer of excitement and helped create unforgettable moments throughout the day.
Senior Kalyssa Werner reflected on the new experience that brought great memories and tons of fun to the end of the year: “Personally, I had never gone on a roller coaster before so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect but I had a lot of fun! I really enjoyed spending the time with my friends and having the freedom to ride whatever roller coasters or rides we wanted to!”
Crediting the decision of the class trip, Werner states, “The senior trip was a great experience and I think choosing Kennywood was the perfect option!” and “It was a perfect opportunity to do something fun together as a grade for one last time!”
Beyond the Thrill rides, the class was able to meet up with whoever they wanted whenever they wanted, creating a free sense to a fun day. Additionally, riding up together meant having conversations with friends and even creating memories on the bus ride there and back.
Another student who had nothing but positive things to say about the senior trip to Kennywood is Melena Zervas. While talking about the day as a whole Zervas added, “It was a day full of laughter, rides, and memories.”
Zervas also commented, “Our senior trip to Kennywood was one of the best parts of our final year together. Getting to spend that time with my friends made the trip even more special, and it was such a fun way to celebrate how far we’ve come as a class before graduation!”
Senior Giana Vanvalien, mentions the amazing staff at Lakeview: “Our senior trip to Kennywood wouldn’t have been the same without the amazing staff. Their energy, organization, and genuine care made everything run smoothly and turned a fun day into an unforgettable experience.”
Overall, the trip highlighted the strong sense of community within the senior class, giving students a chance to relax, celebrate achievements, and create lasting memories before moving on to their next chapters. As graduation approaches, moments like these remind everyone just how meaningful their time together has been truly shared.
From the publications class to the class of 2026, we hope you all had a great trip to Kennywood and made memories that will last a lifetime. Good luck to you all in the future and have a safe graduation!
