As the 2026 school year comes to an end, Lakeview seniors are turning their attention from final exams and assignments to something far more personal: celebrating their graduation. Across the community, students are planning graduation parties that reflect their personalities, friendships, and the memories they’ve made over the years.
For many seniors, these celebrations are more than just parties, they’re meaningful milestones marking the transition from high school to the next chapter of their lives. Whether that next step is college, work, or another path, graduation parties provide a chance to pause, reflect, and enjoy one final moment together.
Lakeview senior MaKenna Doran has been carefully planning her celebration for weeks, focusing on making it both creative and memorable.
Doran explains, “My graduation party is going to be pretty laid back but really fun. My theme is pink and flowers, so my mom and I have been diy-ing pretty much all of it for the past month and putting together all the little details to make everything feel really pretty and personal to me. I’m especially excited for the Shirley Temple bar because I think everyone is going to love it, and we’re also going to have pictures people can scan and use to take photos throughout the day to capture memories together. I’m most excited to celebrate with all of my friends and family before everyone heads off to college and starts a new chapter, and just enjoy one last big night together with the people who have supported me the most!”
From custom decorations to interactive photo stations, it is evident that many students are putting time and effort into making their parties unique and meaningful.
Similarly, senior Ava Pappas is planning a graduation party that is just as meaningful: “My plans for my graduation party is to have it at my house and invite my friends and family. We’re just going to eat and have a good time celebrating. I can’t wait to have everyone around and together to celebrate such a special and memorable time!”
Reflecting on Doran and Pappas’ plans for their parties, it becomes clear that the purpose of these celebrations remains the same: bringing people together.
Many seniors also see these events as a way to create lasting memories.
With classmates preparing to attend colleges outside of Ohio or kick start their career, opportunities to gather as a group will soon become rare. Graduation Parties serve as one final shared experience filled with laughter, nostalgia, and anticipation for the future.
As graduation approaches, excitement continues to build throughout Lakeview High School. Seniors are balancing the bittersweet emotions of leaving behind familiar routines while looking ahead to new opportunities. Their celebrations capture the feelings of honoring the past while simultaneously embracing the future.
For senior Lilli Smith, the significance of this moment is clear: “For my graduation party, I’m really looking forward to celebrating with everyone who has been a part of my journey, even though it feels very surreal thinking about how fast everything went by. I want my graduation party to be a chance to appreciate all the memories we’ve made before we all go our separate ways.”
In the end, Lakeview seniors are not just celebrating the end of high school, but the friendships, growth and experiences that have shaped them into who they are today. As they gather with loved ones for the last round of celebrations, these graduation parties mark both an ending and an exciting new beginning.
These exciting celebrations also highlight the strong sense of community within Lakeview, where students, families, and friends come together to support one another during important milestones. As each senior takes their next step, the memories created during these graduation parties will remain a lasting reminder of the connections and moments that defined their high school years.
