Lakeview High School is excited to bring back one of its most anticipated traditions as the Bulldogs prepare to host this year’s annual Prom Pancake Breakfast tomorrow at 8:30 A.M. in the high school cafeteria. The event, which has become a favorite among students, staff, and the community of the Bulldogs will once again offer a fun and memorable way to begin one of the biggest days of the school year for the Juniors and Seniors. This breakfast is offered free for the third year thanks to a generous donation from the Lakeview Teachers Association.
The Prom Pancake Breakfast is much more than a meal to start the big day. It is a long-standing tradition that brings students together before the excitement of prom festivities begins. Friends will gather early in the morning to enjoy pancakes, socialize, and celebrate with classmates before getting ready for the evening dance. The breakfast creates a welcoming and energetic atmosphere where students can make memories that will last long after graduation.
New at this year’s breakfast will be the voting for this year’s prom court instead of waiting to arrive at Prom to vote. Students attending the breakfast will have the opportunity to vote for Prom Prince and Princess, as well as Prom King and Queen. This tradition gives students a chance to recognize classmates who have made a positive impact on the school community and adds even more excitement to the event. The announcement of prom court winners will now be at the Prom Preview, which is also a new change this year.
This year’s pancake breakfast also includes an important educational component. Representatives from “Smash,” will be present to speak with students about the dangers of drunk driving and the importance of making responsible decisions on prom night. With prom season often focused on fun and celebration, these discussions serve as an important reminder about safety. The presentations will encourage students to think about protecting themselves and others while making smart choices.
By including this message at the breakfast, the Bulldogs are continuing its commitment to student well-being while also promoting awareness surrounding safe driving. Prom is one of the most memorable nights of high school, and school leaders want to help ensure it remains both exciting and safe for everyone involved.
A major reason this event continues to be successful is because of the hard work happening behind the scenes, especially from the Bulldog’s Publications class. Students in Publications have been helping make the pancake breakfast possible through planning, organization, and coverage of the event. From documenting the morning through photos and stories, the Publications class plays an important role in bringing the event together.
Their efforts help showcase the spirit of the Bulldogs and also highlight the teamwork it takes to organize a large school tradition. Whether assisting with event setup, helping coordinate activities, or capturing memories for school media, Publications students are contributing in ways many may not always see. Their involvement reflects the pride and dedication of the Bulldogs students and helps make the event run smoothly year after year.
As the Bulldogs prepare for prom season, the pancake breakfast continues to represent more than just a pre-prom gathering. It is a celebration of school spirit, student leadership, and community. It combines fun traditions like pancakes and prom court voting with meaningful conversations about safety, all while showcasing the hard work of students helping make it possible.
With a morning full of food, laughter, school spirit, and important messages, this year’s Prom Pancake Breakfast promises to once again be a memorable kickoff to prom day. Lakeview High School’s Bulldogs are ready to continue the tradition and make this year’s event one to remember.
