Auditions for Lakeview’s 2026 Spring Musical will be Tuesday December 16th! They will be after school in the auditorium, if you are unable to attend video auditions are due by the end of day Wednesday December 17th.
Students auditioning for a lead/supporting role must have a prepared song (16 to 30 bars), bring sheet music for our piano accompanist preferably or have a backing karaoke track without vocals.
Students auditioning for the ensemble will be singing a very well known song in a group. Groups/songs are not decided ahead of time, you will sing with the other people at the audition.
Junior Avery Masteller claims, “I’m not sure if I’ll actually do the musical this year. I was going to audition but I’m having second thoughts, thought I might do backstage crew like I did for the last show.”
Our tentative musical is Ranked. This show brings to life the college admissions scandal that was in the news a few years back.
The Drama department is still in the process of weighing their options, but Ranked is high on the list.
One bright spot in auditioning this time is that Monologues are not needed for the audition! This is different than in the past, however, everyone will be singing only in their auditions. So, sharpen up your vocal cords because you now have less than a week for auditions.
Junior Bella Marsh says, “I’m going to try out for the musical if I can find the time to; I’ve been a lot busier this year, but I would love to try out and really get to do something that I believe would be fun, engaging, and a wonderful memory to have for later down the road. The musical sounds like a fun opportunity to express creative thinking and to enjoy the time and memories you create with your peers. The musical should be fun and interesting to do, especially with the opportunity of new people joining us or even just having the same members from before. This musical is going to be so much fun and if I’m able to do the musical, I can’t wait to work through it and be apart of something that people can enjoy and remember for a long long time!”
If you want to be considered for a lead/solo part, come with a prepared song. If you don’t want to sing by yourself, you can be part of the group chorus audition where we will sing a familiar song as a group. Junior Logan Hartman says, “I’ve been doing drama since my freshman year and I can definitely say that throughout all the plays and the one musical I’ve done, this one has not been my favorite. But, I’m still willing to try and enjoy the experience of just being able to do the musical with many of my friends. And even though I may not be much of a fan of this new musical, just being able to get to do it with friends and to be able to enjoy the experience of being able to do something that involves actually putting in the effort, is good enough for me.”
