At Lakeview High School, every graduating senior leaves behind a story—but few shine quite like Claire Marble, aTop Dog hero. As she prepares to graduate next Sunday, Claire closes out her high school journey not just as a student, but as a teammate, a friend, and a role model whose quiet strength and kindness have made a lasting impact.
Like any great hero, Marble’s story began with humble beginnings. As a freshman superhero-in-training, she faced the usual uncertainty of starting high school. If she could go back, she might remind herself of a simple but powerful truth: everything works out in the end. Over the years, she developed what she now considers her greatest superpower—resilience. Balancing academics, athletics, and the pressure of planning for the future helped her grow into someone who can handle challenges with confidence and determination.
Marble’s high school journey is filled with memorable moments, but one stands out as especially “epic.” During her freshman year, she was part of the girls soccer team that won districts—a victory that set the tone for her high school experience. ““It was so exciting,” she recalls. It felt great to be a part of something so important.” Soccer remained a central part of her story, shaping not only her high school career but also the friendships she will carry with her long after graduation.
Her teammates became more than just fellow players—they were her closest allies. One of her favorite traditions was spending summers at the lake with the girls soccer team. “We always have the best time and laugh so much,” Marble shared. Those memories, filled with laughter and connection, represent the heart of her high school experience.
Behind every hero is a mentor, and for Marble, that role belongs to chemistry teacher Joshua Murphy. She describes him as someone who always brightens her day and consistently supports his students. His encouragement helped guide her through both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of high school life.
Of course, even the strongest heroes face their own kryptonite. For Marble, senior year brought the overwhelming stress of college applications and big life decisions. “I found myself constantly getting overwhelmed,” she admitted. But her story took a turning point when she was accepted into the pre-nursing program at Ohio University. With a clear path ahead, the weight of uncertainty lifted, and her confidence returned stronger than ever.
Marble’s impact is perhaps best reflected in the words of those closest to her. Her friend senior Leah Clark shared, “Marble and I have been best friends since middle school. We have played sports together and been there for each other ever since. She is an amazing friend and has a great sense of humor.”
Her sister, junior Jillian Marble added, “She is going to college for nursing, which I feel like she will be very good at, but I am also going to miss her when she is gone.” These words highlight not only her achievements, but the genuine connections she has built along the way.
As Marble prepares for her next mission—attending Ohio University and working toward becoming a registered nurse—she carries both excitement and nerves. She is ready to challenge herself, meet new people, and grow even further.
Before she goes, she leaves behind a piece of advice for future Lakeview students: “Be kind to everyone. You truly never know what battles people are fighting. A little kindness could easily be the highlight of someone’s day.”
While Claire Marble may be graduating, her legacy at Lakeview High School will remain—a reminder that true heroes aren’t just defined by their accomplishments, but by how they treat others along the way.
