Lakeview High School is gearing up for an exciting March 27th Pep Rally that’s sure to bring plenty of energy, laughter, and school spirit! This year’s rally, organized by Chelsea Walker and brought up by Lakeview’s AFC Club, will feature a thrilling volleyball showdown as two senior teams face off for bragging rights—before taking on a group of teachers in a can’t-miss match. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Students can enjoy yearbook signing pages, games between matches, and a chance to celebrate another great year together as a school. It’s the perfect way to kick off spring with unity, competition, and Bulldog pride!
There is a lot of work being put into this day by Lakeview students. Chelsea Walker is in charge of the event and is putting a lot of time, effort, and thought into how to make this day great for Lakeview. We had a similar pep rally last year, but we added a few more fun ideas for this year’s rally.
Senior Chelsea Walker stated, “So basically, I’m the leader of a project we are all doing together. Noah Kundle is someone I’ve been working closely with for it, but Izzy Moss has been calling businesses to get donations, and I have several people in charge of the games on the day of. So we have several things going on that day. It will be a bracket-style day with multiple games. I also created the spirit week that is going along with this event, and Cameryn Ross made a flyer for it.”
As Walker explained, there is so much thought and work put into these events from different people so that we can have a nice break from school and have a fun day. They are working hard to ensure we have an enjoyable day by including main events that will keep students interested, and small events to keep the students entertained.
This day was brought up by students to give us a day of fun and no work. Students work very hard all year long, and that’s why this day is seen as a break from all of it so that the students can enjoy themselves.
Principle Lawrence Herrholtz explained, “Basically, this event is like a precursor to this testing season. This is a fun way to give our students a break and send off our seniors with the whole school. This day is like a thank you to the kids and a stress free relax day. We are also introducing the signing pages, while just getting the kids and the whole school together for a day.”
As Herrholtz stated, this is just a relaxing, stress-free day for everyone at Lakeview before our testing season begins. Lakeview staff acknowledge all the work the students put in throughout the year, so this day is kind of a thank you to all the students. It is a senior event, and it is a great way to show our seniors some love and send them off with the whole school.
Along with the new events this year, each student will get their very own yearbook Autograph pages. This packet of pictures with space for friends to sign, adds to the events of this day and gives an opportunity for everyone to be a part of something on this day.
Publications teacher and adviser Angela Sarko explained, “Publications class designed an autograph book filled with some select images that we did not use in the real yearbook. We put a lot of effort into choosing something from every sport and event that had happened up to our deadline in early February. Each student will receive an eight-page packet of pictures and spaces where they can have their friends write out messages that they can keep forever. Jostens printed the packets free of charge to us since we already contract them to print our yearbook. Each student will receive the packet prior to the start of the volleyball game. When yearbooks arrive in August, those who ordered will be able to stick the Autograph Packet right into the back cover of their book.”
Sarko’s staff is helping preserve one of the most personal aspects of high school life, sharing messages and memories with friends. They wanted each student to have a special place for friends’ messages and memories. The pages can easily be added inside the back cover of their yearbooks when they arrive in August. No purchase is necessary to receive the Autograph Packet, but Publications Class members all hope students will use the QR Code on the book to go to Jostens’ Website and order their very own full copy of the 2026 Lakeview High School Epic.
The March 27th Pep Rally is shaping up to be a memorable celebration of Lakeview’s school spirit, teamwork, and dedication. With students, teachers, and staff all coming together for a day full of fun, laughter, and unity, it’s a reminder of what makes Lakeview such a special place. From exciting volleyball matches to thoughtful touches like yearbook signing pages, this event truly captures the heart of the Lakeview community.
