As graduation creeps closer and closer we want to take the time to show off our amazing seniors, one being Gianna VanValien! VanValien has been someone so positively involved in our community and our school!
VanValien has attended Lakeview since kindergarten and has loved her time here at Lakeview building unbreakable bonds with her friends and so many memories. During VanValien’s time here at Lakeview she has participated in National Honors Society as well as participated in cheerleading all four years of high school.
Over the years here at Lakeview VanVailen has developed amazing friendships with some of her best friends. One being Camryn Ross, Ross states “Gianna is someone I loved growing up with and is one of the most beautiful kind girls I know and I can’t wait to continue our time together as penguins at YSU”.
One thing VanVailen wants the younger class to know is “I wish I would have known high school is not like the movies. A realistic day at Lakeview High School consists of supportive teachers, familiar faces in the halls, and challenges that are able to be tackled one step at a time. Realizing high school wasn’t so intimidating would have let me relax sooner, build confidence faster, and actually savor the everyday wins instead of bracing for disaster.” Along with talking about something she wishes she would’ve known, here’s something that has changed her. She states “I think throughout Lakeview, I’ve built a ton of confidence. Going into school as a freshman, I was very shy and avoided speaking up, but through clubs, presentations, and pushing myself in tough classes, I’ve gained so much assurance. Now, I’m self-assured and ready for college and whatever comes next.”
As VanVailen conquered her years here at Lakeview she wanted to talk about her favorite memory from being here at lakeview she states “My favorite memory by far would be cheering on the sidelines with my best friends. Cheering through high school has been such a rewarding and positive program to be a part of. I will always remember the friendships and bonds I have built through Lakeview Cheer.”
VanValien also talks about how much she is going to miss Lakeview. She talked about all of the friends she has made that she is going to miss everyday, along with her sport that she has been doing for years.
VanValien states “The thing I will miss most about Lakeview High School is seeing my friends and teachers everyday. I’ve made so many memories and had so many laughs with everyone here. It is going to be so hard not seeing them everyday. But I am ready to see where my future takes me and continue on at college. It has been such a fun four years of growing into the adults we are today, I am going to miss them the most.”
As we know VanVailen had a career of cheerleading all throughout high school she talked about her favorite memory while cheering she states “ My favorite memory by far would be cheering on the sidelines with my best friends. Cheering through high school has been such a rewarding and positive program to be a part of. Being a part of such a welcoming and amazing environment with my best friends definitely helped me through the years. I will always remember the friendships and bonds I have built through Lakeview Cheer.”
Vanvailen talks about what she will be doing after high school and she states “My next mission is to attend Youngstown State University to study nursing with hopes of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). I am extremely excited to pursue this plan as it is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.”
VanValien is such a strong representation of what a Lakeview Bulldog is! She has accomplished so much and is such an inspiration to look up too! Good luck at Youngstown State Lakeview wishes you the best!
