The Lakeview softball team this 2026 season is looking better than ever. Last year in 2025 they had a huge run to the state semi final game where they ended losing 7-1. The softball team has had major success here at Lakeview and they are looking to go on the same run as last year. The team has many crucial players this year that have played huge roles in huge games and have helped win so many games for them.
The Bulldogs have an outstanding record of 10-2 as of now. They are undefeated in their conference and have only lost to a team that they played in Myrtle Beach and Gilmour academy. The Dogs are ranked 33 in Ohio which is outstanding considering how many softball teama there are in the whole state of Ohio. In the Bulldogs latest game they beat Girard in a 14-0 victory. They are ranked number 1 in the NE8 at this point in time and don’t plan on stopping.
The Bulldogs have 4 seniors this year Carley Brainard, Isabella Isenberg, Mackenzie Stowe and Kalyssa Werner. The seniors have been leading this team this year to their great success and outstanding team work. The Dogs are looking for revenge this year and looking for the first state championship win. This would be the first State title for the Bulldogs softball team. Before that though they still have a lot of game ahead of them that they have to win.
Rylee Barnot a sophomore for the Bulldogs this year that played a role in their success this year said, “This season has been going extremely well for us so far and you can tell how much everyone truly cares. The energy is always high and we have a lot of fun playing the game we all love. We are all close friends on and off the field which makes a huge difference.”
Barnot exclaims that their success comes from them all working together and their true love for the game.
The Bulldogs have a strong line up of players all around the field. The team was very successful when they went to Myrtle Beach for spring break to play games. They were victorious there only losing one game and winning the rest. This trip was a good bonding activity for the dogs and they all enjoyed every moment of it. They had a lot of time to bond together and build their team chemistry which is key factor in sports. They have all learned that the more bond off the field the better the team on the field.
The seniors this year have been playing together now for 4 straight years. They all have learned many important lessons from these past four years and are looking to carry on their final lessons for the rest of this 2026 season. Mackenzie Stowe said, “In the past four years I have been on the softball team I have seen tremendous growth in our communication, consistency on the field, and our bond on and off the field.”
Stowe has noticed the growth of them all working together leading to their great success.
The Bulldogs still have many more games to play this season. As long as they keep their bond up and keep practicing at 100 percent every practice they have the potential to make a big difference in the NE8. They have the opportunity to go to the finals and come back to Cortland with a big win the final game.
