The Boys Lakeview baseball team has started off the year strong! So far they have a record of 5-3 and are hungry to keep picking up wins throughout the season. The Bulldog team has a very strong team bond and that definitely is key on the field as well as they have a big senior class that sets them up for success as they are leaders to the rest of the team. The Bulldogs work hard in practice and are always focused and determined on the field whether it is a conference game or not, they believe every game is important. With the season just beginning a few short weeks ago the rest of the season looks promising for the Bulldogs.
With it showing on the field, the boys’ baseball team is very dedicated to the sport. With long after school practices, to Saturday morning ones as well, the boys’ are always up for the challenge to be the best Bulldogs they can be. Baseball isn’t just physical toughness, it is also mental too. The boys are always there for each other and that is what makes this team so special.
While it may be the start of the season, the boys are making sure to soak in every moment on and off the field this season and too never take anything for granted. They are excited and hungry to see what this season brings.
Senior athlete, Nathan Paolucci, explained, “It is important to be a leader as a senior because every young teammate of mine is looking up to me and the rest of my fellow seniors and you want to put on a good example and show them how to do things right so they can make themselves the best athletes they can be as well as bring others up around them. You want to make sure to always have a good attitude no matter what, even if your having a bad game because you want to show that you have to keep a positive attitude to be a well rounded player.”
Head Baseball coach Cameron Carson has been working with the boys’ this entire season and has taught them many life lessons that will carry on even off the field. He is leading the team off to a great start to the season! With a huge win against a conference game against South Range his enthusiasm has carried over into the boys mentality and it is definitely paying off.
Coach Carson states, “The guys on the team have totally bought into what we have been preaching. We have been a super aggressive team and have shown a lot of competitiveness. I am very happy with where we are at and I am looking to carry on this momentum throughout the rest of the season.”
While Coach has big plans for the season, the players do as well. The team wants to soak up every moment and take every moment and make it their absolute best!
Senior athlete Isaiah Lantz, explained, “My goals for the rest of the year are to build as many relationships as possible and to finish the year out with my friends making more memories.”
While talking about memories, senior Isaiah Lantz also added, “My favorite memory was the North Carolina trip. Playing baseball and also going to the beach was the most memorable part of the trip.”
The 2026 Boys’ baseball team continues to defy the odds and exceed expectations. The boys have shown great Lakeview Bulldog pride and have had dedication, perseverance, and team cohesiveness throughout the season and are determined to keep going. They not only want to keep their strong record going, the boys’ are also focused on making memories, building friendships, and having a positive attitude no matter what. As the boys’ keep looking forward into the season they are hopeful to go far and they are going to keep working and giving their all until the last play is over!
