The Lakeview Bulldogs are seeking revenge this year. Last year they carried a record of 13-11 and were 5-7 within the conference. It’s been since 2023 since when they last competed for a conference title. The Bulldogs are returning 9 letter winners and have a total of 7 seniors this year. Isaiah Lantz, Nathan Paolucci, Brandon Toot, Hayden Newton, Jacob Shaker, Brandon Cash, and Matthew Leonard. These guys are looking forward to making a lasting impact for the Bulldogs.
Senior Nathan Paolucci when asked what his goals for this year are he said, “The goals I have for myself are pretty simple, for myself this year I want to make an impact on our team and do everything I can to make our team win games. For the team I want to win as many games as possible and win a district title.”
So far this year the Bulldogs have a record of 6-3 and 3-1 in the conference. The Dogs have been electric in their last 5 outings. With a winning streak of 5 in a row and scoring a total of 49 runs while only giving up 7 runs. This is a great stat line and will keep rolling as long as possible and into the playoffs to make a run come playoff time.
Junior Eli Gough, goes on to explain the team’s expectations for this year. Gough explained, “For this year we are coming to win games plain and simple. We are being a more aggressive team mentally and with our play as well. The goal is to win the conference first. Then after that go on and win a district championship. Division 5 is a tough division that has a lot of teams in our conference and opponents we know. Especially with losing to Keystone and them being in our region it just makes us wanna go get them even more.”
The baseball team fell short of a district championship last year. Although they did win the district championship in 2023 that was the last time the baseball program has seen something like that. The team in 2023 had great seniors that led them there. This year 2026 the baseball team is almost looking identical to them with many great seniors to lead them to that district final that they have been chasing for so many years now.
Senior Isaiah Lantz said, “I have high expectations for this team and I love these guys.”
The Bulldogs are still in the conference run and have beat South Range once and lost once to them. They last played Niles in their conference and they swept the series with Niles. They won 5-0 at Niles and then 10-0 at home. The Bulldogs have a tough schedule still ahead of them they still have to play Hubbard and Poland which have always been a battle to the end for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs have great chemistry on and off the field. The chemistry between the baseball team is unmatched and that is why they are successful this year. They have a great bond off the field and the recent North Carolina trip has really helped them bond over this period of time. This only makes them a better team and ready to dominate the league.
